  • Combinations for Wealth in the Birth Chart

Wealth refers to the resources that you possess to sustain yourself in the world. These resources can be classified into three types: physical wealth (good health), mental wealth (strong mind), and material wealth (movable and immovable assets). In this discussion, we will focus on material wealth. The amount of wealth you have creates an impression in society that you are stronger and smarter than others, regardless of the fact. There are various ways in which one can acquire wealth throughout their life. In astrology, the 2nd house is known as the house of wealth (dhana bhava). This house serves as a vault where one stores their gains, leading to increased value and fame in society. Some individuals are born into wealthy families and inherit pre-filled vaults in their 2nd house, while others must fill their vaults with their own skills and efforts based on their karma. In addition to the 2nd house, it's important to understand the significance of other houses related to wealth. The 1st house is considered the most auspicious house since it represents the self and is responsible for bringing us into this world. The 5th house is associated with speculative gains such as stock market, entertainment industry, lotteries and anything you bet on. This house also governs creativity and intelligence, which are crucial for achieving wealth. The 9th house is the house of luck and fortune, as it governs higher education, long-distance travel, and spiritual pursuits. People with strong 9th house placements are blessed with good luck and opportunities in life. The 11th house is associated with income from work and all types of gains that come from all other houses such as inheritance, lottery, investments etc. This house also governs friendships, networks, and social connections that can help you gain wealth. The combination of these four houses, along with the 2nd house, is considered the most powerful for achieving wealth. The connection between these houses needs to be confirmed by analyzing the Ascendant chart, Moon chart and Navamsha chart. The stronger the connection between these houses, the greater the potential for wealth. To verify this claim, I conducted a study on over 200 charts of successful individuals, including entrepreneurs, celebrities, monarchs, and heirs of wealthy families. It was found that all of them had a strong connection between these houses without exception. Example charts 1. In the birth chart of Giorgio Armani, the renowned fashion industry mogul, the lords of the 1st, 2nd, and 5th houses are conjoined in the 12th house. Additionally, the 9th lord is casting an aspect on both the 9th and 11th houses. Furthermore, the 11th lord, Venus, is favorably placed in the 11th house and casting an aspect on the 5th house. These planetary placements and aspects suggest a strong potential for accumulating wealth and gains through creative pursuits and speculative ventures, as well as favorable luck and fortune. In the Moon chart of Giorgio Armani, there is a conjunction of the 1st, 2nd, and 11th lords in the 1st house of Gemini. The 5th lord is also strongly placed in the 12th house. The 9th lord is also well-positioned in the 9th house and is aspecting the 11th house. Moreover, in the navamsha chart, there is a conjunction of the 2nd, 9th, and 11th lords in the 6th house of Cancer, while the 5th and 1st lords are mutually aspecting each other. These combinations strongly confirm the presence of wealth in his chart. 2. In Henry Ford's birth chart, the combination of wealth is strongly evident as the 1st, 2nd, and 11th lords are all conjunct in the 12th house. Additionally, the 5th and 9th lords are well-placed in the 2nd and 1st houses, respectively. These connections between various houses confirm the potential for financial success in his chart.. In Henry Ford's Moon chart, the 1st, 2nd and 5th lords are positioned in the 9th house, while the 9th lord is casting an aspect on the 1st house and the 11th lord is aspecting the 11th and 2nd houses. Additionally, in his Navamsha chart, the 2nd and 11th lords are placed in the 12th house, the 1st lord is in the 5th house and aspecting the 11th house, the 5th lord is casting an aspect on the 2nd house, and lastly, the 9th lord is aspecting the 12th house. These planetary placements confirm the combination of wealth in his chart. I do not take other parameters into consideration, such as planetary strength, house dignities, nakshatras, and so on. However, these parameters provide intricate details of the event. The connection is the most important factor as it creates opportunities to bring wealth in the first place. 3. In the chart of Jay Leno, the well-known American TV host and avid collector of cars and motorbikes, the combination of wealth can be seen through the conjunction of the 1st, 2nd, and 11th lords are in the 8th house. Additionally, this combination is aspecting the 2nd house, where the 5th lord is placed, creating a mutual aspect. The 9th lord is also strongly placed in the 5th house and is aspecting the 11th house, further confirming the connection of wealth in his chart. In Jay Leno's moon chart, the 1st and 9th lords are exchanging places, then 2nd and 11th lords Mercury in the 10th house. The 5th lord is aspecting both the 11th and 1st houses, and the 5th and 9th lords are mutually aspecting each other. In the navamsha chart, the 1st and 5th lords are exchanging places, as are the 2nd and 9th lord is Venus placed in the 10th house. The 11th lord is placed in the 1st house with the 5th lord. All these planetary configurations confirm the connection between the wealth houses in Jay Leno's chart. 4. Queen Elizabeth II's chart shows the 1st and 5th lords conjoined in the 2nd house, while the 2nd and 5th lords are in exchange with each other. The 9th lord is placed in the 5th house and aspecting the 11th house, and the 11th lord is aspecting the 9th house. This combination indicates the potential for wealth accumulation through personal creativity and self-expression, as well as through good fortune and beneficial connections with others.. In Queen Elizabeth II's Moon chart, the 1st, 5th, and 9th lords form a mutual aspect, indicating a strong connection between her personality, creativity, and good fortune. Additionally, the 11th lord aspects the 2nd house, which is related to wealth and possessions, and the 5th lord aspects the 2nd lord, 2nd house and the 1st house, indicating her potential to accumulate wealth through her own efforts and creativity. In the Navamsha chart, the 1st and 5th lords are together in the 10th house, indicating success and recognition in her career. The 2nd lord aspects the 1st and 5th lords, as well as the 2nd and 5th houses and the 11th lord, further emphasizing the potential for financial gain through her creativity and career. The 11th lord is placed in the 5th house and aspects the 11th house, indicating her ability to generate income through her investments and speculation. 5. Leonardo DiCaprio, the famous Hollywood actor, has the 1st, 2nd, and 9th lords conjoined in the 2nd house, indicating a strong connection between his self-expression, personal resources, and beliefs. Additionally, the 11th lord is placed in the 1st house, suggesting that his social networks and aspirations are intimately tied to his identity. Furthermore, the 5th and 11th lords are both under the rulership of the 1st lord Mercury, reinforcing the importance of creativity, self-expression, and networking in his chart. Leonardo DiCaprio's Moon chart is the same as the Ascendant chart. In the Navamsha chart, the 1st, 2nd, and 9th lords are found in the 12th house, while the 11th lord has control over them and is aspecting them. The 5th lord is in the 5th house and is aspecting the 11th house. The above examples demonstrate that the houses 2, 5, 9, and 11 are associated with wealth in various ways. The connection between these houses with the 1st house is the key factor that brings maximum wealth through various means. It is noteworthy that the connection between these five houses was consistently established in all three charts of the natives, i.e., the Ascendant, Moon, and Navamsha.

  • Shani (Saturn)

Shani, the sixth planet from the Sun, is a magnificent planet with a stunning ring system that leaves everyone in awe. It is also the farthest planet visible to the naked eye from Earth, with everything beyond Saturn being a vast expanse of darkness. Sage Parashara gave more importance to the planets visible to the naked eye, making Shani the graha of secrecy and chaos that controls all that is unclear. Saturn is the slowest planet, taking almost 30 years to orbit the Sun, making it the planet of long-term events. Its a gas giant like its neighbor Jupiter, expressing Vata (air) nature, and they both share similarities on various occasions. Jupiter is a teacher by nature and Saturn is a teacher by deed. Lord Shanishwara (Shaneshchara) Lord Shani is called Shanishwara due to his deep devotion towards Lord Shiva (Ishwara). He is the son of the Sun (Surya). Shani has a dark and smoky appearance inherited from his mother Chhaya, who is the shadow or illusion of Sanjana, Surya's wife. Once Sanjana couldn't bear the scorching heat of the Sun, she made a shadow of her named Chhaya and left her there to accompany her beloved husband. Chhaya then gave birth to Lord Shani, however, when Surya learned about this, he denied Chhaya and Shani, leading to an enmity between them. As a result, Lord Shani became distant from Surya and represent everything opposite to him. “Surya is light and Shani is dark, Surya is clarity and Shani is confusion, Surya is the King and Shani is the Servant, Surya is hot and Shani is cold. We need this polarity (duality) to have a society. Otherwise the world will collapse.” Power and Influence Lord Shani is widely feared because he is responsible for overseeing long-pending karmic debts, even among gods and goddesses. There are many stories about Shani Dev and how he has caused great empires to fall due to their karmic debts, the story of the King Vikramaditya, King Bali and King Indra are some examples. Even gods must respect the laws of karma, making Shani's blessings necessary to be blessed by other gods. Shani represents time, and he never fails to bless us when we serve others, thus ruling the natural 11th zodiac Aquarius. As the significator of karma, he makes us pay our karmic debts even after centuries and reincarnations. Thus, he is known as the karma karaka. Shani is tamasic in nature, binding us to materialistic pleasures so that we pay our karmic debts in time. This makes him a dire malefic and a manipulator, but it's important to remember that he is also responsible for our souls returning to Earth. We need Saturn's binding energy to live our lives to the fullest. Significations Saturn is chief representator of time and karma. Also represents the society at large. His several other representations are old people, servants, underprivileged individuals, rebels, and anti-establishment groups. Moreover, he signifies various intangible things, including time, duty, karma, devotion, dedication, servitude, hard work, chaos, secrecy, rebelliousness, longing, illness, laziness, and lethargy. Saturn's remarkable rings symbolize the planet's ability to rise to great heights despite having come from humble beginnings. Interpretations By using the significations and important points mentioned above, we can gain a deeper understanding of Saturn in a birth chart. Saturn is a natural malefic planet so it'll always bring hardships in its dasha despite being a benefic for Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants. A person with a strong Saturn may exhibit qualities such as a hard worker, committed, dutiful, a good team player, a kingmaker, an activist, a social worker, or a politician. On the other hand, a weak Saturn can result in traits such as laziness, lethargy, illness, talkativeness, overconfidence, fearfulness, anxiety, and excessive overthinking. Portfolio Saturn is a male planet, but due to his opposing nature to Surya, he is also associated with female gender, making Saturn a neutral planet with both male and female characteristics. Its full maturity is reached at the age of 36, representing the pinnacle of human maturity. Additionally, the numbers 6, 8, and 33 are considered significant in relation to Saturn. Its a tamassic graha Its exalted in Libra and debilitated in Aries Its ruling signs are Capricorn and Aquarius Gets directional strength in the West (7th house) Its ruling direction is West Friendly with Mercury and Venus Enmity with Sun, Moon and Mars Associated colour is blue and black Its ruling deity is Yama Shani represents vayu (air) and the body parts are teeth, knees and joints. Read about the benefits of Shani Mudra Exaltation and Debilitation of Saturn Saturn attains exaltation in Libra, his most powerful position. To better understand this, lets imagine Saturn in Libra. Saturn is the antithesis of the Sun and believes in liberalism, the primary quality of Libra. Saturn always takes into consideration the ideas and opinions of others before making a decision, another quality of Libra. Libra is directly opposite to Aries and is the natural 7th house where the Sun sets and nighttime begins, making it Saturn’s favorite domain. Saturn’s father, the Sun abandoned him, leading him to long for a union (represented by Libra). Due to his father’s influence (the 9th house Gemini), Saturn became the representative of duality. He keeps common people in his heart, cares for and supports the underprivileged (Capricorn represents general public, and is 4 houses away). Saturn’s most valuable resource is his old age (Scorpio represents longevity, and is the 2nd house), and he keeps his worries and sorrows to himself while spreading his wisdom through his actions (Sagittarius represents wisdom, and is 3 houses away). He rebels against the established order represented by the Sun. He sees order in chaos, and fights for everyone without regard for the destruction of the formal order (Pisces represents chaos, and is 6 houses away). His nourishment comes from working hard for the betterment of others (Cancer represents nourishment, and is 10 houses away). His actions cause him to rise to great heights like the Sun (Leo represents Kingliness, and is 11 houses away). Saturn's debilitation sign is Aries, where it is forced to act like the Sun, creating opposing nature. Aries is a sign that demands swift actions, but Saturn lacks the ability to make decisions quickly. Saturn desires to work tirelessly for the betterment of the underprivileged and prefers to remain out of the limelight (but Taurus is the 2nd house that brings easy fame). From Aries, Saturn is forced to work for a specific set of people (because 6th house Virgo) instead of the masses who are neglected (12th house Pisces). Aries, therefore, deprives Saturn of his requirements. Note: The concept of exaltation and debilitation presented here is the result of extensive observational research and contemplation over the years.

  • Rahu and Ketu (Nodes)

Rahu and Ketu are shadow Grahas (Planets) that symbolize the enigmas of life. Ketu is considered the eldest of the two, representing the mystery that has already been explored in previous lives, while Rahu embodies the mystery yet to be explored. Rahu, also known as the north node, and Ketu, aka the south node, are two non-physical planets only visible during solar and lunar eclipses. Their positions are determined by the Sun and Moon's path around the Earth over the course of a year. By considering the earth as stationary (from an observer's perspective), imagine the Sun and Moon's paths intersecting at two points known as nodes several times a year. Rahu (north node) occurs when the Moon's orbit crosses the Sun's orbit from south to north, while Ketu (south node) occurs when it crosses from north to south. Rahu's domain encompasses everything north, while Ketu's domain encompasses everything south. The Birth of Rahu and Ketu Rahu and Ketu represent the head and body respectively – the beginning and the ending. They were once united as one entity named “Swarbhanu”, a powerful asura who had obtained ashta siddhis (eight magical powers) and was even bestowed with the status of a planet by Lord Brahma. After the churning of the ocean of milk, the devas and asuras lined up to receive the divine nectar of immortality (amrita) but the Gods decided to offer it only to devas by deceiving the asuras. Swarbhanu was the most intellect among the asuras, and soon he discovered the deception of Lord Vishnu who was in disguise as "Mohini" (the most beautiful woman) to distract the asuras while offering the amrita to devas. Knowing this, Swarbhanu tricked the devas into thinking he was one of them and drank the amrita only to be caught by Lord Vishnu, who cut off his head. Since Swarbhanu had already consumed the amrita, he did not die, but his one body became two as head and torso (including limbs). Lord Vishnu attached a serpent's tail to Swarbhanu’s head which became "Rahu" and attached the serpent's head to Swarbhanu’s torso which became "Ketu". All things beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and long-lasting in life begin with a burst of energy. Significations Rahu is associated with the future, modern technology, foreign cultures, and the western world. It also represents rumors, overindulgence in food and distractions, as well as large organisms and cats. In terms of relationships, it is connected to one's paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother, foreign friends and connections. Association of faith is Islam. Ketu represents a connection to the past, ancient technology, and society as well as the Eastern world and microcosm. It also signifies hearsay, excessive fat in the belly, traction, micro-organisms, and small animals like dogs. Ketu's relationships include paternal grandmother, maternal grandfather, local friends and contacts, priests and monks. Association of faith is ancient like Hinduism, Buddhism, Shamanism etc. Both Rahu and Ketu can produce sudden outcomes. However, Ketu is swifter and more covert than Rahu, as it has the head of a serpent, it acts more like a serpent. Rahu is known as the bhoga karaka (significator of abundance) and Ketu is known as the moksha karaka (significator of liberation). Typically, what Rahu gives, Ketu takes away, and vice versa. Additionally, they both symbolize time. Rahu's placement in your astrological chart indicates your future direction, while Ketu's placement reveals past events, including past lives. Rahu's position reflects your eagerness to acquire knowledge related to its house, sign, and nakshatra. On the other hand, Ketu's position signifies your desire to teach what you learned from your past lives (related to its house, sign, and nakshatra). "We drive into the future using only our rear view mirror" Interpretations Rahu constantly eats because it doesn't have a body to digest, thus it brings material prosperity to a point where the native will become over-indulgent and an addict. On the other hand, Ketu doesn't have a head to eat so it denies food resulting in the denial of material prosperity. Since they are non-physical, they mimic the characteristics of their dispositors in their own ways. They also mimic the qualities of their conjunct planets and aspecting planets, resulting in unique possibilities. That's why Rahu-Ketu dashas are hard to predict, even for well trained astrologers. Transits The serpents Rahu and Ketu oscillate back and forth making you move towards the past and the future constantly. Your physical planets feed Rahu and Ketu in various ways, motivating them towards this perpetual motion. They do so through different ways, such as through their relationship with your nodes, and by transiting over your Rahu and Ketu for guidance and wisdom. Another way is when the node transits over your physical planets. But it has a negative effect as well, it may feed on immature karma due to its insatiable nature. For example, Rahu transiting over a strong Mars and Venus conjunction may ignite your romantic energy, but if Mars and Venus are weak, it can deplete this energy by bringing false romance. Portfolio Rahu and Ketu represent no gender. They mature at the age of 42 and 46 respectively. It's the midpoint of life when you get the full understanding of your past, present and future. Rahu is connected to numbers 4 and 36. Ketu is connected to numbers 7 and 39. Rahu gets exalted in Taurus and debilitated in Scorpio. Ketu gets exalted in Scorpio and debilitated in Taurus. Rahu co-rules the sign Aquarius. Ketu co-rules the sign Scorpio. Rahu’s favourable direction is south-west and Ketu’s favourable direction is north-west. Rahu is friendly with Venus, Mercury and Saturn. Ketu is friendly with Mars and Jupiter. Rahu and Ketu are enemies with Sun and Moon. They're tamassic grahas. Rahu’s associated colours are UV, all shades of blue/brown and electric blue. Ketu’s associated colours are infrared, all shades of grey. Rahu is mostly resembling the Sun, Ketu is mostly resembling the Moon. Rahu’s ruling deity is Goddess Durga and Ketu’s ruling deity is Lord Ganesha. Rahu represents air (vayu), Ketu represents fire (agni). Philosophy Time isn't linear but cyclical and we’re just time travellers. That's what the nodes denote through the image “Ouroboros”. Rahu and Ketu have a unique relationship where one follows the other, and vice versa. This signifies the cyclical nature of time, where the past and future are interconnected (aka history repeats itself). Lord Vishnu allowed Swarbhanu to drink the nectar to maintain balance in the cycle of life and death, victory and defeat, gain and loss, happiness and sadness. The duality of nature is emphasized by Rahu and Ketu, who are polar opposites, yet connected to each other in mysterious ways. This is why they are always located seven houses apart. The 7th house represents everything opposite, and in the same way, Rahu and Ketu balance each other's energies as remedies. It's similar to how partners in a marriage are different in many ways but connected through the bond of marriage. It shows that the 7th house from any house represents the balance of that house. This knowledge can help you find balance in any aspect of your life. That's why it's crucial to understand the nodes in astrology.

  • Ashwini (அசுவினி): The Beginner

Placement: 00° 00’ to 13° 20’ of Aries Element: Earth (Bhumi) Pushkara Navamsha/Bhaga: NA Gandanta Nakshatra Ashwini is the first nakshatra among the 27 nakshatras, and as such, it marks the beginning of everything, including life. It is said to have a magical quality, bestowing its natives with magical abilities and knowledge. As it is also a fast-moving nakshatra, with the moon transiting over it faster than others, any actions taken on this day are believed to be carried out more quickly. Deity: The deity of Ashwini nakshatra is the Ashwini Kumaras, the twin brothers who are known as the celestial physicians with magical powers for healing the wounded and bringing the dead back to life. The name Ashwini is derived from their association with horses as they were born to Lord Surya (Sun) and his wife Sanjana in horse and mare form, resulting in their physical form having a horse's head and a human body. These brothers are forever young, agile and never age. Despite being identical twins, they differ in nature, as one brother prepares the medicine while the other applies it. One is sattvic and the other is tamasic, yet they remain inseparable. Natural healers: Nakshatras such as Ashwini, Ardra, Pushya, Hasta, Anuradha, Moola, Dhanishta, Satabishak, and Revati have the natural ability to heal. Ruler: Ketu, the oldest planet in astrology and the planet of creation, rules over Ashwini nakshatra. This nakshatra is known for its swift and transformative energy, which is also associated with Lord Ganesha, the deity of new beginnings, power, and success. While Ketu is often associated with endings, it's important to remember that every ending marks the start of something new. As a result, Ashwini nakshatra is considered to be an auspicious time for starting new projects and endeavors. To gain philosophical wisdom, one must possess knowledge of the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu. Symbol: This nakshatra is symbolized by the "horse's head". As the head is the supreme organ in the body and carries all five sensory organs, it holds great significance. Wearing a crown on one's head signifies royalty and authority, which is why the Sun gets exalted in this nakshatra. Guna: This nakshatra is characterized as Rajasic, with a focus on continuous physical activity and an emphasis on swift movements. Animal: The animal symbol associated with Ashwini nakshatra is the male horse, or stallion. As the twin deities of the nakshatra are associated with horses, this is not surprising. Horses are renowned for their speed, with their beautiful manes and stunning looks adding to their appeal. Power: The power attributed to this nakshatra is "Shidra Vyapani Shakti", which refers to the ability to quickly reach one's destination or achieve one's goal. General attributes: Individuals who are strongly influenced by Ashwini nakshatra exhibit twin personalities in nature. They may experience sudden shifts from being silent to being vocal, or from being idle to taking action. They are natural healers, and their words or actions may carry a certain healing energy. As it is the first nakshatra and where the Sun first gets exalted, they always possess the energy to create or initiate something. They are likely to value constant physical movement, strength, and courage. The influence of Ketu may make them selfless, but it can also make them reckless at times. Sitting in one place for an extended period can be challenging for them, and their lives will always be full of movement and new experiences. It is important to note that these are general qualities, and individual experiences may vary. Next Back

  • Bharani (பரணி): Time and Transformation

Placement: 13° 20’ to 26° 40’ of Aries Element: Earth (Bhumi) Pushkara Navamsha/Bhaga: 3rd pada/21° Bharani is a significant nakshatra due to its position in the sequence. While Ashwini represents the start of all things, Bharani represents what follows. Starting a task may be simple, but persevering with the same level of energy until the end necessitates hard work, discipline, accountability, consistency, and a clear sense of time. This is the crux of Bharani nakshatra. Symbol: The term "Bharani" translates to carrying or bearing, and this nakshatra is symbolized by the female reproductive organ. It is formed by three nakshatras in the Aries constellation, creating an inverted triangle that resembles the shape of a uterus. As such, it represents fertility, bondage, time, responsibility, consistency, hard work, pleasure, pain, transformation, birth, secrecy, sexuality, nourishment, and more. The essence of Bharani nakshatra is the challenge of continuing a task with the same energy and dedication until its completion, which demands discipline and a strong understanding of time. Deity: Lord Yama is the ruling deity of Bharani nakshatra. He is known as the Lord of time, dharma (righteousness) and death. Yama's job is to ensure every soul's journey towards the astral plane after death. Time is the ultimate judge of our actions, and death is the final act that brings an end to our actions. Lord Yama's role is to maintain balance in nature by ending a human's life at the right time. Despite his serious responsibilities, Yama is not a boring deity. He is a king like Indra and brings abundance like Bhaga. He enjoys doing artistic activities and has his own palace. Moreover, he is known for his cool, funny, and pleasure-loving nature. According to the Puranas, Yama is the son of Lord Surya (Sun) and a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Shiva entrusted him with the task of carrying out death due to his unwavering devotion, dedication, and commitment towards time, justice, and righteousness. Ruler: The planet Venus is the ruler of Bharani nakshatra, which is not surprising as it represents many of the important qualities associated with this nakshatra, including fertility, nourishment, bondage, pleasure, abundance, devotion, birth, transformation, and sexuality. Animal: The male elephant is the animal associated with Bharani nakshatra. These majestic creatures are known for their intelligence, playfulness, familial bonds, and immense strength. With their keen senses and impressive memory, they are able to navigate through difficult terrain and remember important details. Interestingly, despite their massive size, they are known for their high level of sexual activity. Guna: As a Rajasic nakshatra, Bharani represents a constant flow of action, but unlike Ashwini, it also signifies immense responsibility that requires a high level of consistency. Power: The power represented by Bharani nakshatra is "Apa Bharani Shakti", which is the ability to remove or let go of things and move on to the next phase. General attributes: Individuals born under Bharani nakshatra are known for their ability to take on big tasks and see them through with consistent effort. Their hard work, discipline, and responsible attitude make them reliable individuals who can transform things in an easy and efficient manner. They may possess exceptional creativity, which sets them apart from others. As a feminine nakshatra, Bharani represents qualities such as birth, fertility, nourishment, creativity, and sexuality. However, the expression of these qualities can vary among individuals and depend on various factors such as planetary placements and aspects. These are general qualities, and individual traits may vary. The inverted triangle is a symbol of Goddess Kali, and there is a connection to the energy of the 8th house, Scorpio, and Moola nakshatra. • Krittika (கிருத்திகை): The Establisher of Dharma

Placement: 26° 40’ of Aries to 10° 00’ of Taurus Element: Earth (Bhumi) Pushkara Navamsha/Bhaga: 1st and 4th pada/NA Krittika is the third nakshatra which combines the energy of Sun, Mars, and Moon. Lord Kartikeya was raised and trained in this constellation to fight against a mighty demon and re-establish dharma on earth. The night sky in Krittika is adorned by a cluster of seven tightly packed stars known as Pleiades. Ruler: Krittika is ruled by the Surya (Sun) and is considered to be of great significance in creation mythology. It is believed to be the seed of God Shiva and the origin of all creation. The meeting of the Sun, which represents fire and heat, and the Moon, which represents water, symbolizes the creation of life. This is further evidenced by the fact that Krittika starts in Aries, where the Sun is exalted, and ends in Taurus, where the Moon is exalted. Moon gets its maximum exaltation in Krittika. Deity: Krittika is ruled by the deity Agni, who is the God of fire. Protection and motherly nourishment, which fall under the domain of the Moon, are the central themes of this nakshatra. Krittika is one of two nakshatras presided over by Lord Agni, the other being Vishakha. Lord Kartikeya, the commander of Godly forces and the son of Lord Shiva, is also associated with this nakshatra. According to mythology, he was born from the fire that emanated from Shiva's third eye, which produced six sparks that led to the birth of six children. The births of these children were kept secret, as their purpose was to defeat the demon king Surapadma. They were sent away to be raised and taught by six foster mothers known as the "Krittika women," after which Mother Parvati united the children into one body with six heads, hence his name "six-faced" or "Arumugan." Kartikeya is generally depicted as young, good-looking, and dressed as a warrior, carrying a spear shaped like an arrow. Other names associated with him include Sharavana, Murugan, Skanda, and Subramanya. Krittika means "critical," its Sanskrit meaning is "most beautiful." It also has another meaning, which is "cutter" or "splitter." Symbol: Krittika's symbolism is represented by fire and a sharp object, which can also be associated with Mars (Mangal), as Mars is the significator of "fire and sharp objects". This nakshatra starts from the sign of Aries (from 26° 40’ to 30° 00’), which is ruled by Mars. Hence, there is a strong connection with the Sun and Mars throughout. Sharp objects and fire can be used to protect or harm someone. Similarly, this nakshatra can act as both a protector and destroyer. Animal: The animal associated with Krittika nakshatra is the female goat, which is the mount of Lord Agni. The peacock is the bird associated with this nakshatra, which is the mount of Lord Kartikeya. Guna: This nakshatra is considered to be Rajasic, as it is associated with consistent and active pursuits, with a particular focus on technical skills and knowledge, more so than the previous nakshatras. Power: This nakshatra is associated with the power of "Dahana Shakti", which refers to the ability to purify through burning or heating. General Attributes: Krittika nakshatra is associated with the attributes of protection and destruction, as well as nurturing abilities, education, warrior attitude, bravery, and skills through constant burning of energy. Individuals born under this nakshatra can exhibit both protective and destructive tendencies, and are known to strongly defend their beliefs and habits. Deer are known for their large antlers, which were once a symbol of pride in ancient royal societies. These animals possess a gentle, beautiful, and agile nature, making them one of the most challenging targets to hunt in the jungle due to their keen senses and elusive nature. In some ancient cultures, the antlers of deer were used to make medicines and musical instruments, while their mystical qualities have been associated with intuition, psychic abilities, and mysticism. Male deer are known to engage in fights that can last for hours to prove their strength to a female, making them a symbol of romance but not very active sexually. Mrigashira is symbolized by a deer's head, while Anuradha and Jyeshta are depicted with deer as their animal symbol. The symbol of Mrigashira nakshatra is not only the deer's head, but also Soma. However, due to Mars' rulership, the tamasic qualities of the Moon are more prominent in this nakshatra. Some Vedic texts also associate Goddess Parvati as a deity of Mrigashira nakshatra. Parvati is considered the creator and sustainer of the universe and is worshipped as the Supreme Mother in Vedic culture. Together, Moon and Parvati represent the motherly nature in a tamasic way. As Mars is wild and tamasic, the energy of the mother takes a wild turn if necessary, from being soft and gentle. In Puranas, Parvati underwent severe penance for many years to marry Lord Shiva, enduring both inner and outer battles. Animal: The animal associated with Mrigashira nakshatra is the female Cobra. However, in this context, "outcast" can be seen as a positive trait of thinking beyond the mundane. Being the first nakshatra in the zodiac belt ruled by Rahu, this aspect is particularly pronounced. As it is located in the heart of Gemini, a technology-oriented sign, the combination of Rahu and Mercury makes it a highly technological and futuristic nakshatra. These are general characteristics, and discretion is advised while interpreting them. Religious importance: Ardra nakshatra's connection with Rudra makes it one of the most auspicious nakshatras to worship Lord Shiva. Shiva temples in southern India celebrate a religious festival every year called "Arudra Darshan" on the day of Ardra nakshatra, which falls between mid-December and mid-January. It is believed that this day marks the Brahma Muhurta of the Devas, which is considered an auspicious time for meditation, chanting, and prayers, as our body clock is naturally aligned with the sunlight during this period. Brahma Muhurta occurs approximately one and a half hours before sunrise. Since a human year is considered a day for the Devas, worshipping Lord Shiva on this day makes it extremely auspicious for the entire year. Previous Next Back

  • Pushya (பூசம்): Nourishment

Placement: 03° 20’ to 16° 40’ of Cancer Element: Water (Neer) Pushkara Navamsha/Bhaga: 2nd pada/8° The Sanskrit word "Push" signifies nourishment, and this is precisely what Pushya nakshatra represents. Positioned at the center of the Cancer zodiac (the natural fourth house), Pushya embodies the motherly aspect of nourishment. A mother's love is regarded as the purest and most unconditional form of love on earth, as she continues to nurture her children, irrespective of their characteristics. This nakshatra is also known as the "king of nakshatras" since it symbolizes growth and creation in all domains of life. It is considered an auspicious nakshatra for initiating any endeavor, with the exception of marriage. Symbol: The symbol associated with Pushya is the udder of a cow. The udder secretes milk that not only nourishes the calf but also humans. Cow's milk is still a staple in the daily diet of many people around the world, demonstrating the nourishing ability of this nakshatra on a global scale. In Vedic culture, the cow is revered equally to a mother for the same reason. Therefore, the symbolism of the udder of a cow in Pushya nakshatra clearly depicts its quality of growth. If Cancer represents the cow, then Pushya represents the udder of the cow. Natural healers: Ashwini, Ardra, Pushya, Hasta, Anuradha, Moola, Dhanishta, Satabishak, Revati. Ruler: Shani (Saturn) The planetary ruler of Pushya nakshatra is Shani, also known as Saturn. This planet is associated with the quality of consistency, which is reflected in this nakshatra. For example, a mother is consistent in nourishing her child, and similarly, Pushya represents the nurturing and nourishing qualities that are consistent and reliable. Deity: The ruling deity of this nakshatra is Brihaspati, also known as Jupiter. As the natural teacher of dharma and higher wisdom, Jupiter embodies the qualities of guidance, enlightenment, and expansion. Animal: The animal associated with this nakshatra is the "male goat". Guna: This nakshatra is classified as rajasic, meaning it is action-oriented with an emphasis on stability, comfort, and nourishment. Power: This nakshatra embodies the "Brahma Varchava Shakti", which refers to the power to tap into the creative energies of the universe, as personified by Brahma. General attributes: Pushya nakshatra embodies growth, expansion, and comfort. Individuals born under its influence are inclined towards stability and ensuring the comfort of those around them. Due to its association with Saturn and Jupiter, they may face challenges and obstacles until the age of 32. This period serves as a valuable learning experience for them to gain a better understanding of the world. Pushya natives are drawn to activities such as teaching, learning, traveling, writing, and publishing. They place great value on family, home, and community, and are known for their patience and perseverance in pursuing their goals. These are general characteristics and may vary among individuals. Jupiter's exaltation: In the sign of Cancer, the Guru of the Devas, Brihaspati/Jupiter, experiences exaltation. This nakshatra, located from 3°20’ to 16°40’ within the heart of Cancer, grants him his maximum exaltation strength. Cancer is regarded as the sign of Universal Motherhood, which signifies love for all things and beings in the world - this is the ultimate path to Moksha/Enlightenment. Guru, having knowledge of all that exists in the Universe, arrives here to obtain the highest level of comfort. This is because the path to Moksha is achieved through true love, and true love originates from having a family. When one has a family, they begin to love and work tirelessly for them. Gradually, the love expands to include others outside the family circle (because the individual becomes accustomed to giving love), and this is what Cancer symbolizes: the Universal Mother. Note: However, in a world where deceitful and complex relationships have become a social norm, the concept of unconditional love can often seem idealistic and impractical. This is when the darker aspect of Pushya nakshatra can manifest, which includes possessiveness and manipulation. Previous Next Back

  • Ashlesha (ஆயில்யம்): The Entwined

It supports psychic and spiritual development, particularly through yogic practices, meditation, and self-inquiry. Some nakshatras are believed to be especially auspicious for certain purposes, such as spiritual pursuits, psychic abilities, or healing practices. One such nakshatra is Ashlesha, also known as the "entwined" or "embracing" one. The word "Ashlesha" derives from the term "Shesha", which means snake. Shesha represents the primal life force, kundalini energy, and transformational power. Ashlesha is associated with snakes, particularly cobra or python, which symbolize primal instincts, regeneration, and wisdom. It is also associated with burrows, tunnels, and deep caves. Deity: its ruling deity is "Naga", a clan of higher beings with supernatural abilities. According to Vedic texts, Nagas have a human body atop a serpent's lower body, and some believe they transform into full snakes during nighttime. Nagas were considered enlightened beings with special skills related to chakras and siddhis. They were prominent mystics, tantrics, and hypnotists who once ruled a kingdom flourishing with super intelligence. However, they eventually left earth for celestial realms. While today's snakes are considered part of the Naga clan, they are believed to be less intelligent beings that remained on earth. In Vedic culture, snakes are associated with many gods and goddesses, such as Vishnu, Shiva, and Kartikeya, due to their representation of supernatural abilities through kundalini shakti. Additionally, many ancient cultures have used snake poison to make certain chemicals that alter reality. To further understand the significance of snakes, you may explore the Rohini and Mrigashirsha nakshatras. Rahu and Ketu, also known as the North and South nodes, are depicted as serpent beings with their severed bodies attached to the tail and head of a serpent. The coiled snake can be interpreted as being at rest or in a poised position, ready to strike if necessary. Ruler: Mercury, also known as Budha, is the ruling planet of this nakshatra. He is known for his skills in alchemy and research. The ever-changing nature of Mercury is highlighted in this nakshatra. Animal: Male cat. Despite being associated with the nurturing sign of Cancer, they may exhibit ruthlessly pragmatic tendencies. Their interests in chemical experiments and alchemy may be noticeable in their daily routines. They approach sexuality with a deep understanding rather than for mere pleasure. If necessary, they can be highly manipulative to achieve their goals. The Ashlesha nakshatra is connected with fields such as drugs, poisons, mental health, the porn industry, secret services, and mysticism, among others. As an earthly nakshatra with deep roots, spiritual transformation may occur in the native's life. Balancing the root chakra is crucial for a harmonious life. The natives born under this nakshatra are said to possess a heightened sensitivity to subtle energies, a deep intuition, and a natural curiosity for the unknown. They may also have an innate talent for healing, counseling, or teaching, as well as a keen interest in esoteric or occult knowledge. At the same time, Ashlesha natives may also struggle with certain challenges, such as emotional instability, anxiety, or self-doubt. The snake symbolism of the nakshatra suggests that they may have a tendency to entangle themselves in complex or toxic relationships, either with others or with their own psyche. However, if they learn to channel their energies in a constructive way, they can use their intuitive and transformative powers to break free from their limitations and tap into their full potential. It should be noted that these are general characteristics, and individual differences may exist. Remedies: Some remedies for mitigating the challenges associated with Ashlesha nakshatra include performing mantras or prayers to Naga or Mercury, practicing hatha yoga or kundalini yoga, and refraining from excessive drinking as it can be toxic for individuals born under this nakshatra to handle. Previous Next Back
