  • Saturn Transit 2024-25

The current transit of Saturn and Mars in Purva Bhadrapada (PBh) nakshatra is occurring after a span of 58 years (from April 10th 2024 to April 26th 2024). The previous conjunction in 1966 heralded significant societal transformations. The 1960s marked the era of the Space Race, culminating in Neil Armstrong's historic moon landing in 1969. Economic reforms swept across numerous nations, and it also saw Indira Gandhi's historic ascent as India's first female Prime Minister. Similarly, this new transit in the 21st century is ushering in profound societal shifts across various domains. Numerous countries, including India, are undergoing elections in 2024, which are anticipated to hold significant historical significance. There'll be a noticeable evolution in individual mindsets, market dynamics, science and technology. This isn't a normal occurrence observed annually; rather, it's a transformation that may only happen once, or perhaps twice, in a century. The current transit indeed brings about unusual events globally. However, it's fortunate that Saturn and Mars are positioned in Jupiter ruled nakshatra, while Jupiter itself transits Krittika. This combination suggests that despite the challenges, the ultimate outcome of this transit isn't entirely destructive. This entire decade mirrors the transformative spirit of the 1960s. It's not merely a period of ascension but rather a pivotal time of change that occurs perhaps once, or at most twice, in a century. The current transit also aligns with the new year, Krodhi, meaning the entire Krodhi year will be influenced by this transit. If you look at the broader context of this decade, 2020 brought about a significant transformation with the onset of remote living due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Then, in 2023, Artificial Intelligence emerged as a prominent phenomenon. Similarly, we anticipate the next transformative shift to unfold from February 2025 onward. With Saturn in its moolatrikona sign, it is an opportunistic time for the world to pursue their desires, we can expect a surge in investments during 2024-25. Also, February 2025 marks the culmination of whatever began in April 2024. From February 2025 to April 2025, we'll see Saturn transiting behind Rahu in PBh, Saturn symbolises hard work and diligence, so during this period, the world will be on a fast forward spin, people worldwide will be putting in extra effort to pursue their aspirations. Additionally, there may be an increase in pet ownership during this time.

  • New Year Predictions (Krodhi Samvatsara 2024-25)

The new vedic solar year has commenced on April 14, 2024, it is the 38th year within the 60-year cycle of our Vedic Solar Calendar. This 38th year is called 'Krodhi', it means anger, temperament, passion, and pride. During this entire year, Saturn will be positioned in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra, indicating significant karmic debt fulfilment in your life that could make you feel proud and passionate or the other way. It's a year focused on resolving substantial karmic obligations. Krodhi's Horoscope In this New Year Horoscope Jupiter is in Aries, situated in the 4th pada of Bharani Nakshatra at 25°56'. With Bharani's yogatara at 24°, the enlightening and judgmental qualities of Bharani will manifest through Jupiter's influence. Therefore, one can anticipate significant judgments and decisions unfolding throughout the year. Expect the unexpected. Fact checks will become a serious thing, it means a lot of fake news and fake commitments will also be there this year. Jupiter's Note With Jupiter positioned in the Moksha pada of Bharani nakshatra, the tendency will be for the world to delay important judgments until the eleventh hour. Additionally, as Jupiter transitions towards the end of Bharani, it will amplify the influence of the next nakshatra, Krittika. Consequently, individuals are inclined towards making significant, action-oriented decisions throughout the year. Read Saturn's Transit 2024-25 for more insights Fast Forward Commitments and promises made during this period are likely to yield immediate results, emphasising the importance of adhering to one's commitments and promises. The alignment of Mars and Saturn in Jupiter ruled nakshatra indicates the potential for significant marriages and agreements, whether between individuals or large entities such as organisations or nations. These unions could have far-reaching implications and contribute to global dynamics. Moreover, the influence of Jupiter in the chart suggests that major discoveries and breakthrough ideas may emerge from prominent organisations or countries (more than the previous years). These innovations are likely to leave a lasting impact on the world stage, shaping the course of events for the foreseeable future. Current Situation The end of April would be emotional and chaotic, there should be stability in your emotions and strictness in your routine to yield the right opportunities and right results. Krodhi's Nature and Weather With Jupiter's transit through Krittika, there is a rise in temperature compared to previous years. As Jupiter approaches Taurus, the natural 2nd house, this rise in temperature will likely be accompanied by heightened rainfall. During the period from May 11th to May 24th, 2024, when both the Sun and Jupiter are in Krittika Nakshatra, expect conditions to be hot and rainy simultaneously in some parts of the world. Furthermore, the conjunction of Mars and Rahu in Pisces from May 11th reinforces this forecast. Climate change is real, its one way or the other. And this year will be its witness. The world will face unexpected time shifts. Also the positioning of Ketu and Jupiter signifies a challenging period for nature this year. Indicating a rise in temperature, increased rainfall, and other calamities, including fire incidents, particularly from July to October 2024. The transit of Mars and Jupiter on opposite sides of Aries in May 2024 suggests the potential recurrence of events similar to those observed between January 13th, 2023, and March 12th, 2023. Krodhi's Communication The prominence of Pisces, strengthened by the presence of Rahu, Mercury, and Venus, highlights the importance of communication in the year ahead. Effective communication has the potential to resolve various issues, whether they involve partners, organisations, or countries. However, it's crucial to note that poor communication could escalate conflicts, especially with Saturn and Mars in the 4th house and the Sun and Jupiter in the 6th house from the lagna. Between July and October 2024, anticipate political scandals, triggers for significant conflicts, and peace talks as potential outcomes of communication dynamics during this period. Technology In 2024, technological advancements are highlighted by Saturn and Mars in Aquarius, a sign associated with innovation, particularly in space and technology. Expect significant discoveries and inventions in these fields due to the strong emphasis on technology in the astrological chart. Market Saturn's positioning indicates volatility, with wild predictions and investments likely from May 2024 onwards. Spirituality Spiritually, starting from June 2024, there may be notable events involving spiritual gurus, such as health treatments or their departure from the earthly realm.

  • Arudra Darshan

Arudra Darshan on Ardra nakshatra Arudra = the Maha Rudra who’s dancing (Rudra Tandavam) Darshan = the special opportunity to see It is said that Lord Nataraja blessed the devotees on this day by giving them the opportunity to witness his cosmic dance (Rudra Tandavam). This is the fifth stage of a soul, “the revelation”. Another specialty is that it is also the beginning of Brahma Muhurta of the Devas in their world known as Deva loka or Swarga loka. So Ardra nakshatra of every year in the month of Margashira/Margazhi is celebrated as the day of Arudra Darshan. Devotees usually perform early morning pooja such as milk abhishekam (pouring) and curd abhishekam on Shiva Lingam. The ancient temple of Lord Nataraja in the South India town of Chidambram will perform special annual pooja for the Lord on this day. Performing fasting, mantra chanting and poojas for Lord Shiva, milk abhishekam are all best remedies for people with Ardra, Mrigashira, Magha, Purva and Uttara Phalguni, Swati, Moola, Uttara Ashadha, Dhanishta, Purva and Uttara Bhadrapada. Five faces of Shiva Lord Nataraja, the dancing form of Shiva represents the 5 different aspects of the Universe. Creation Preservation (maintenance) Destruction Concealment Salvation aka revelation aka blessing Shaiva Siddhantam says that the five above said duties are done by Lord Shiva using Maya (illusion) while performing a dance known as Shiva Tandavam (Shiva’s cosmic dance) in Sanskrit. This dancing form of Shiva is called Nataraja, meaning the King of Dance. Why dancing? You may wonder why the Supreme God of an age old culture is depicted as dancing while no other religion has anything similar to this. Shiva is doing the above said five duties through his dance. Dance is the supreme art form, it combines the expressions of all other art forms. His dance moves have the power to create, preserve, destroy, conceal and reveal continuously forever. So that life will take different forms over time to reach the final stage. While explaining the Shiva’s dance, it says that the dance continues forever but there comes a time when he pauses the dance to destroy the existence of everything only to start over it again. This time is called “end of all ages” and Shiva stands on single foot during this time without dancing. This form is known as “Lord Aja Ekapada”, another form of Lord Shiva, also the deity of Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra. I’ve written more about it on: ShivaShakti and Shiva Tattva Ardra nakshatra Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra Ani month of Vedic calendar

  • The Sacred Principle of Shiva and Shakti

According to Shaiva Siddhanta, "Shiva" is the ultimate reality or singularity from which everything emerges and to which everything returns. This emerging energy is called the "Shakti" (his consort). Shiva's duty is to bring forth Shakti, which is essential for the manifestation of all things in the universe. Therefore, it is said that Shiva created Shakti, and in turn, Shakti created Shiva. The fusion of the words "Shiva" and "Shakti" into ShivShakti can provide a comprehensive understanding of this. Shakti is the energy of Shiva from which all other gods and goddesses, including Vishnu and Brahma, emerge. Therefore, Shiva is considered the father and symbol of masculinity, while Parvati is the mother and symbol of femininity. Shiva is formless, infinite, and represents the unchanging absolute Brahman, while Shakti is the energy of Shiva that creates, protects, destructs, conceals (maya), and blesses everything. Shiva and Shakti are both the same and different, representing duality. Example: on a typical day, your body performs a multitude of functions, such as breathing, blood circulation, digestion of food, and sleep, among others. However, you may not be aware of all these processes all the time since they happen very normally. This life energy is generated by you (your soul) so that you can live. If these functions are not working properly or cease to function altogether, then the human body can no longer be called a person, but rather just a "body." The soul is represented by Shiva, and the life energy in our body is represented by Shakti. When the energy stops working, the soul will depart, or when the soul decides to leave, the energy will stop working. Without the presence of energy, we cannot recognize a soul, and without the presence of a soul, we cannot observe the workings of energy. This is why it is said that everyone has Shiva and Shakti inside them, because what we perceive outside is merely the body, controlled by the ShivShakti from within. This concept is depicted in a simpler form through Ardhanareeshwara in Indian temples, particularly those found in South India. This deity appears as a single entity, with Shiva covering the right half and Shakti covering the left half. This duality concept is not limited to religion, as it can be applied to almost everything in the universe. I have written about this in detail you can read here. To gain a better understanding, consider standing in front of a tasty and aromatic food that looks great. In this scenario, the food represents Shiva, while everything you enjoy about the food represents Shakti. Now, imagine removing the Shakti from the food and what you'll be left with. Without the aroma, taste, and appearance, there would be no food left. There is no Shiva without Shakti and vice versa. Lord Natraja is the embodiment of Shiva's cosmic dance, wherein Shiva dances endlessly through his Shakti to fulfill his five cosmic duties of creation, preservation, destruction, concealment, and salvation. In the depiction, His right leg is firmly on the ground while His left leg is lifted in the air to dance. The standing leg represents Shiva, which is still and silent, while the dancing leg represents Shakti, which is active and performing the action. Only one ancient temple in India, located in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, South India, is dedicated to Lord Shiva in his Natraja form. The people of this town call this temple the secret of Chidambaram. Because Lord Natraja represents the underlying philosophy of Shaivism. There are 36 tattvas used in Shaiva Siddhanta for a profound understanding of this philosophy. According to the Siddhanta, one can surpass the cycle of time, death, and rebirth by transcending these 36 tattvas. In Vedic culture, the union of a man and a woman in marriage is seen as the union of Shiva and Shakti. The soul represents Shiva, the life energy represents Shakti, and our physical body acts as the platform for them to perform actions, represented by Lord Ganesh. This is what is called "AUM," the Pranav Mantra. A represents Shiva, M represents Shakti and U represents Ganesha, the third entity that holds Shiva and Shakti in a perpetual unity.

  • Philosophical Truth behind the Cycle of Cause and Effect

What is law of attraction? the Law of Attraction states that your dominant thoughts, words, and actions will attract corresponding tangible or intangible outcomes into your life. While this theory is intriguing, it lacks an explanation for how it functions. Therefore, I will use the theory of cause and effect to clarify its workings. Theory of Cause and Effect The fundamental principle of cause and effect is that the cause leads to an effect, and the effect leads to the cause, creating a cyclical relationship between the two. Let's consider an example: The individual referred to as "A" is unemployed and faces repeated rejections from potential employers. This failure ultimately leads to feelings of lethargy and initiates a cycle where A's failure serves as the cause and his lethargy is the effect. As A experiences more failures, his lethargy becomes increasingly pronounced, culminating in a state where he is unable to succeed in any endeavor. It is evident that in this case, lethargy serves as the cause and failure as the effect. This cycle of cause and effect lies at the heart of the law of attraction. Although A may not be solely responsible for his initial failures, his subsequent lethargy attracted further failures. This same principle can be applied to understand why the rich tend to get richer and the poor tend to get poorer. Cycle of Life The cycle of cause and effect is a fundamental force that governs the universe, embodying the duality of existence, the tattva of Shiva and Shakti, the principle of Yin and Yang. This duality is ubiquitous in the universe, evident in the functioning of stars, galaxies, and everything else. In fact, in the Vedic tradition, newlywed couples are directed to gaze upon the stars "Alcor and Mizar" in the constellation of Ursa Major (aka Saptarishi constellation) to comprehend the duality of life, as these two stars are binary, revolving around each other and dependent on each other for survival. They are known by their Sanskrit names, "Arundhati and Vashishta", with Arundhati being the wife of the Sage Vashishta, one of the Saptarishis (seven celestial sages). Miśra Prapanchá The term "Miśra Prapanchá" in Sanskrit beautifully expresses the idea of a mixed or dual universe. It suggests that cause leads to effect and effect leads to cause, resulting in an endless cycle. While this cycle cannot be broken, it can be transformed from one state to another much like the first law of thermodynamics. For instance, your success makes you confident that leads to further successes. In contrast, your failure brings lethargy and doubt, leading to further failures. To break this cycle, you can transform your doubts and lethargy into success through persistence and perseverance, as exemplified in the story of Thomas Edison or any successful person. It's essential to recognize that you are the cause, and everything that happens to you is the effect, making it necessary for you to initiate the transformation yourself. This duality is the origin of the concept of “Karma”. For instance, if you tell a lie to cover up a mistake, you may feel the need to tell another lie to support the first one, and then another, and so on, until you can't remember where or when it all began. This cycle has a certain beauty, in that it's difficult to break free from. It's similar to Newton's Law of Motion, where objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by an external force. Similarly, your lies may persist indefinitely unless you put an end to them. This is how the law of karma operates.

  • Significance of the Atma Jyotirlingam Journey

Jyotirlingas are the 12 most ancient Lingas of Lord Shiva. These are the most sacred and powerful Shiva temples capable of fulfilling the wishes of its devotees. The word "Jyotirlinga" is derived from two words: "Jyoti" means light and "linga" means the emblem of Shiva. Linga/Lingam in the ancient times were either self-manifested (swayambhu) idols or manifested by an ancient devotee mentioned in the purana or itihasa. There are only 12 of them, spread across pan India. It is believed that if a person visits all the 12 Jyotirlingas in their lifetime, they will attain Moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Each of the 12 Jyotirlingas is associated with a different story or legend from Vedic texts. For example, the Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga was built by Lord Rama who prayed to the Linga before he walked across Ramsetu towards Srilanka to save his wife Sita from the Demon King Ravanasura. Likewise the Somnath Jyotirlinga was built by the Chandra (Moon God), to worship Lord Shiva, while the Kedarnath Jyotirlinga is the place where Lord Shiva granted a boon to the Pandavas, the heroes of the epic, the Mahabharata. The Jyotirlingas are also associated with different names of Lord Shiva. For instance, the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is associated with the name Omkara (OM), while the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is associated with the name Mahakaal, which means the Lord of Cosmic Time. The 12 Jyotirlingas are Rameshwaram in Tamilnadu Somnath in Gujarat Nageshwar in Gujarat Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh Vaidyanath in Jharkhand Mallikarjuna in Andhra Pradesh Mahakaleshwar in Madhya Pradesh Grishneshwar in Maharashtra Vishwanath in Uttar Pradesh Bhimashankar in Maharashtra Kedarnath in Uttarakhand Tryambakeshwar in Maharashtra Each of these Jyotirlingas are associated with each zodiac sign in astrology in the same order from Aries to Pisces. Pilgrimage to Atma Jyotirlingam Worshipping the Jyotirlinga associated with the zodiac sign of your Atmakaraka planet is beneficial to your soul. Especially the Jyotirlinga associated with the Navamsha sign of your Atmakaraka of your birth chart is supremely beneficial for your soul journey. For instance, if your Atmakaraka planet of the birth chart is Sun, and its posited in Aquarius in Navamsha then you have to visit Kedarnath for guiding your soul on the right path. It is said that the one who is supposed to get maximum benefits will always have a hard time visiting their Atma Jyotirlingam. Devotees of Lord Shiva, visit the Jyotirlingas throughout the year, but special importance is given to certain auspicious days like Mahashivratri and Shravan month (July-August), that's when the temples are crowded with devotees.

  • Masi Magam: A Celebration of Purification and Blessings

Masi Magam, a vibrant festival celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Aquarius (Tamil month of Masi) from the mid-Feb to mid-March. It's more than just a day of rituals and festivities; it's a portal to spiritual growth, ancestral reverence, and divine blessings. It's a day marked by sacred baths, and cherished traditions, each imbued with unique meaning. But what truly elevates Masi Magam to its unique status is its intricate connection with the Magha Nakshatra, a constellation weaving its magic into the very fabric of the festival. Full Moon's alignment with the Magam (Magha star) Magha, meaning "the great," resonates with power, leadership, and authority. Its symbol, the royal throne, whispers tales of individuals born under its influence – natural leaders with a regal aura. This nakshatra is ruled by Ketu, the shadowy south node of the moon, associated with transformation, letting go, and uncovering hidden truths. So, Masi Magam becomes a potent day for introspection, shedding negativity, and embracing one's inner strength. Spiritual Cleansing Masi Magam is believed to heighten the potency of rituals and prayers. Devotees embark on the ritual of Magha Snanam, a sacred bath in holy rivers, seas, or temples. It isn't just a physical cleansing; it's a symbolic washing away of past karmic burdens, a chance to step into a renewed self. Magha nakshatra amplifies the purifying effect, making it a potent time for spiritual rebirth. Honouring Ancestors and Seeking Blessings Masi Magam isn't just about individual transformation; it's a bridge connecting generations. Devotees offer prayers and perform rituals to appease their ancestors (Pitru Devata), seeking their blessings for prosperity and well-being. This act of remembrance acknowledges the lineage, strengthens familial bonds between generations, and ensures the continuity of traditions. Additionally, specific rituals are performed to appease specific deities like Lord Shiva and Murugan, seeking their grace and blessings for various desires. A Spark for New Beginnings Masi Magam is also the harbinger of abundance and prosperity. This auspicious day is considered ideal for initiating new ventures, starting educational pursuits, or embarking on journeys. The Magha nakshatra's energy of leadership and authority further fuels this spirit of new beginnings, empowering individuals to step into their potential with confidence. Tapestry of Traditions: From Kumbakonam to Tiruvannamalai Masi Magam is celebrated with diverse local customs across India. The combination of introspection, rituals, and devotion leads to personal transformation. It's a chance to align with the stars, connect with ancestors, embrace cultural heritage, and start anew. This experience illuminates the path toward a brighter and spiritually enriched future.

  • What is Pradosham?

The term "Pradosham" refers to the auspicious evening time that occurs one and a half hours before and after sunset, during which Lord Shiva and his vehicle Lord Nandi are worshipped. The Pradosham evening is observed on the 13th tithi (trayodashi) of both the waxing and waning lunar cycles, and is considered to be a significant religious occasion. According to the legend, once Lord Indra was riding on his celestial white elephant, Airavata, and came across Sage Durvasa on the way. As a blessing, the sage offered Indra a special garland. Indra accepted the garland and put it on the head of Airavata. However, the flowers in the garland had a strong scent that attracted bees. Annoyed by the bees, Airavata threw the garland on the ground. Seeing this disrespectful act, Sage Durvasa became angry and cursed Indra and the rest of the devas, stripping them of their power, pride, fortune and everything else they had. As a result, they were defeated by the asuras in a battle led by King Bali. After losing everything, Indra and the rest of the devas sought Lord Vishnu's help, who advised him that churning the celestial ocean was the only way to retrieve what they had lost. Indra then convinced the asuras to join them in this effort to obtain the nectar of immortality (Amrita). They used Mount Mandara as the churning rod and the serpent Vasuki from Lord Shiva's neck as the churning rope, with the asuras taking the side of serpent's mouth and the devas taking its tail. However, during the churning, the mount began to sink, prompting Lord Vishnu to take an avatar of a turtle, known as Lord Kurma, to support the mountain on his shell, allowing the churning to continue. Due to the constant twists and pulls, the snake Vasuki began emitting deadly poison fumes, causing everyone to flee towards Lord Shiva for help. In an act of compassion, Lord Shiva swallowed the poison and saved them all. To celebrate this momentous event, Lord Shiva performed the cosmic dance (tandav) between the horns of his mount Lord Nandi, which was witnessed by Vishnu, Brahma and all the celestial sages. This divine moment of blessings from Lord Shiva is now known as "Pradosham," and is celebrated as an auspicious time for worshipping. Five types of Pradosham Nitya Pradosham (daily) Paksha Pradosham (fortnight) Maasa Pradosham (monthly) Maha Pradosham (yearly) Pralaya Pradosham Nitya Pradosham: It comes every evening roughly an hour and a half before and after sunset (around 4.30 pm to 7.30pm if we take 6pm as the average sunset time). Paksha Pradosham: It comes on the 13th tithi (trayodashi) of the waxing lunar cycle. Monthly Pradosham: It comes on the 13th tithi (trayodashi) of the waning lunar cycle. Maha Pradosham: Trayodashi falling on a Saturday is referred to as Maha Pradosham. It is derived from the fact that the legend associated with Pradosham occurred on a Saturday (aka Shani Pradosham). Pralaya Pradosham: Pralaya means “end”. In vedic puranas the term Pralaya is used to denote the ending of the final age when all living beings will look towards Lord Shiva to save them. This time is called Pralaya Pradosham. The method of prayer, or pooja vidhi is as follows: Begin by taking a bath in the morning before sunrise and then worship Lord Nandi and Shiva by chanting their mantra 108 times. Start the fast (vrat) from then on and continue it till the end of the pooja at Pradosham time. In the evening, perform Shiva and Nandi pooja by lighting a diya and pouring milk over the Shivlingam and Nandi while chanting the mantra. You may also offer honey, sandalwood paste, curd, vibhuti (ash), Indian bael, rice, fruits, and other items, but milk is considered the most important as it symbolizes purity. Light an incense and chant the mantra 108 times once again. Finally, end the vrat after the pooja by eating the offerings. Nandi Mantra: Om Namo Nandikeshwaraya Namah Nandi Gayatri Mantra: Om Tatpurushaya Vidmahe Chakratundaya Dhimahi Tanno Nandih Prachodayat You can also chant the "Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra" or "Om Namah Shivaya".

  • Remedy for Pitru Dosha & Childbirth

Pitru dosha and the loss of childbirth are often connected in many situations. Pitru dosha, also known as the ancestral fault, affects someone due to the mistreatment or lack of care for their ancestors while they were alive, including neglecting the rites after their passing. The belief is that one's ancestors are reborn in the same family as the descendants' children. However, if the ancestors are unhappy with the actions of their descendants, they may choose not to be born again. Hence, appeasement is necessary in the form of religious rituals. One such ritual happens on the day of Kumbh Mela. Kumbhmela (கும்பமேளா)/Maasi Magha (மாசி மகம்) Maasi magha/Kumbhmela, an annual religious festival celebrated on the full Moon of the month of Aquarius. The devotees take a holy dip in temple waters or rivers to not only pray for the removal of their sins but also for the removal of their ancestral curses. There are special pujas and specific rites believed to remove the evil energies on this day. Also, the people who don't have children shall perform special pujas to their ancestors and Gods for the blessings of having children. The Moon will be in Magha nakshatra on this day, which is ruled by the ancestors (pitru devata), hence paying respect to one's ancestors is at its utmost importance. Note: Aquarius month is one of the best times to perform fire rituals like Ganpati homa, Lakshmi homa etc.

  • Month of Aquarius/Magha (Mid-Feb to Mid-March)

Sun’s annual transit in the sign of Aquarius (kumbha) is called the month of Aquarius (Magha month). Sun’s direct aspect falls over Leo and the full moon of the month will be in magha nakshatra. In Tamil, its called Maasi month, Maasi also means Magha. The theme of this month is "achievements". Because Magha represents the height of achievements, the throne of the ancestors. In other words, if you spent your last month on constructing a building then you'll spend this month on inaugurating the same. That means either naturally or artificially you'll get opportunities to fulfill your goals (long-term or short-term). It also has the theme of "strong foundation", because Sun transits over Saturn ruled zodiac so it has the tendency to start something for a long-term progress. Aquarius starts with dhanishta (lioness) nakshatra and ends with purva bhadrapada (lion) nakshatra, while the opposite sign Leo itself is a lion, so this month could bring a long lasting success in your endeavours especially if your Sun and Leo are strong. • Month of Capricorn/Pushya (Mid-Jan to Mid-Feb)

The Sun's annual journey through Capricorn is known as Pushya/Pausa month, தை மாதம் in Tamil. It typically spans from mid-January to mid-February. This period is termed Pushya because, during the full moon (purnima) and new moon (amavasya) of this month, the Sun aligns with the nakshatra of Pushya. Although it also influences other nakshatras, the primary impact is observed on Pushya, hence the name. In English, it is called the Month of Capricorn. Capricorn, the natural 10th house (representing the south direction and midday), is a significant placement for the Sun. Sun gets directional strength here (to be the natural leader). Sun's transit in Capricorn is favourable for career prospects, reputation, and success. Lord Kartikeya significations This month marks one of the most auspicious times to worship Lord Kartikeya (Murugan), who is the presiding deity (Adhi Devata) of Mars. Mars reaches its exaltation in Capricorn, gaining maximum strength in the natural 10th house, making it an opportune time for success-oriented endeavours. According to puranas, Kartikeya is believed to have vanquished asuras during this month, precisely on the day of purnima in the Pushya nakshatra. This significant event is commemorated annually as Thaipusam, a widely celebrated Hindu festival in various parts of the world, including South India, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia. Shravana nakshatra is directly opposite to Pushya, reflecting balancing energies. So explore Shravana, Pushya together and their connections to Lord Kartikeya and Guru tattva to understand a lot about these nakshatras. Sun and Mars' Directions in Capricorn Sun and Mars share a harmonious connection. The Sun attains exaltation in Mars's sign, and both receive directional strength in the 10th house. Both are fire planets, associated with Lord Kartikeya and Krittika Nakshatra. In Hindu Puranas, Sun represents Shiva, while Mars represents Kartikeya, highlighting the father-son relationship between Sun and Mars. According to Vedic astrological principles, Sun represents the king, Mars represents the warrior and Capricorn represents the land. Thus, the king and the warrior come into power when they secure a land.
