  • The Audacity of numbers

Fear, a common phenomena No. 6 and 13 are feared by many. According to western mythology it is connected to Satan, the dark lord. But in Vedic Puranas, it is mentioned clearly that everything in the universe is dualistic in nature. What we think of as bad can become good in an instant and vice versa. The lack of this understanding is what causes unnecessary fear. Number Six No. 6 in numerology is ruled by Venus (Shukra). Shashti, the sixth tithi in astrology is also ruled by Venus. Friday, the sixth day in a week is once again ruled by Venus. What is Venus? It is the planet of prosperity. It is ruled by Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity. Both Virgo, the 6th sign and Ardra, the 6th nakshatra represent medicine and healing. The symbolism of Krittika nakshatra (where Moon is exalted) is a six pointed star (star of creation). No. 6 in tarot represents lovers. Carbon, the 6th element of the periodic table acts as the basic building block of our physical life. Saturn, the 6th planet from Sun is the most spectacular one with its icy rings and hexagon cloud. It is known as the planet of longevity (ayur karaka) in astrology. As you can see above, everything associated with no. 6 have a lot of creative energy. Yet, they all have an other completely different side. For ex., Venus, the planet of love & prosperity is also the Guru of Asuras, the representation of greed & lust. Carbon, the creator of physical life can also become the destroyer if it reacts with other elements (causing global warming and natural catastrophes). Virgo, the natural healer is also a natural malefic. Saturn, the planet of longevity is also the planet of fear and death (mrityu karaka). The 3rd eye chakra aka Ajna chakra is the sixth chakra, the subconscious mind that connects you to the ultimate reality aka the Brahman. Humans are different from other species because we're the only species with sixth sense. Number Thirteen No. 13 in numerology is ruled by Rahu, the mystery healer. Trayodashi, the thirteenth tithi in astrology is also associated with Lord Rudra, the God of dharma, thus we celebrate Pradosham on that day. Hasta, the 13th nakshatra is known for its magical healing abilities. No. 13 in tarot represents major transformation. As you can see above, everything associated with no. 13 have a lot of healing and transforming energy. Yet, they all have an other completely different side. For ex., Rahu is also known as micro organisms such as viruses. Lord Rudra is also known as the destroyer among trinity, he destroys adharma (injustice) to bring dharma (justice). Hasta is also known for its trickeries and obsessions. These numbers not only bring fear but also bring luck, love, creativity, rebirth, transformations, and confidence. So these positives and negatives are there for a balance. Happiness won't be there without sadness and vice versa. They both balance and compensate each other. Thus one has to understand the duality of the world. Nature shows this in many subtle ways. For example, rose, the beautiful flower is also covered by thorns. Nothing is entirely good or bad. The lack of this understanding is numbing the minds and hearts of people which is nothing but a great burden to the entire society. This is why it is said that even the Amrit (divine nectar) kills you if you take it too much. Moral: Fixation on an idea without proper investigation is poisonous. It is against the process of evolution. You've to question everything and evolve constantly. That's why, people with fixed lagnas (taurus, leo, scorpio and aquarius) get 9th house as obstacles. Because 9th house represents evolution.

  • Exploring Education through Birth Chart

Education encompasses both conventional and unconventional learning acquired throughout life. Irrespective of formal education, an individual's knowledge can stem from personal experiences across this lifetime and previous ones, as reflected in their nodal positions, 5th house, and Atma karaka. Placements Denoting Easy Education The second house in astrology represents language, speech, and early communication, which sets the foundation for curiosity and the acquisition of knowledge. Therefore, to gain insight into the knowledge one acquires in their lifetime, the second house is the primary key that needs to be examined. The fifth house, also known as the purva punya bhava, represents the good deeds and virtues acquired in past lives. It encompasses the moral values learned in order to perform righteous actions. The ninth house is the most significant house, representing gurus, mentors, and teachers. It is responsible for traditional knowledge acquired through formal education and signifies the growth and evolution of one's knowledge over time. The fourth house is a crucial link in this chain of understanding as it represents one's mother and the initial teachings received during childhood. This phase marks the beginning of the learning process and is, therefore, highly significant. Additionally, the fourth house is also associated with the heart and comfort, indicating the areas where one's interests lie and where they feel most at ease learning. The example of Tai Lung in the movie "Kung Fu Panda" illustrates this concept well, where despite being taught by Master Oogway, Tai Lung showed a greater inclination towards violence. The 11th house serves as the final piece of the puzzle as it reveals whether or not you will acquire the knowledge you seek. It's crucial to examine these houses for gaining good knowledge, considering both the lagna and the Moon. Placements Denoting Hard Education Good education can still be ensured in the presence of a benefic (especially natural) planet in the 2nd, 5th, or 9th house, even if the 4th and 11th houses are average or weak. Having a benefic planet in the 5th or 9th house, or in both, can significantly enhance one's prospects for higher education. A mutual exchange between the second and fourth house, fourth and fifth house, fifth and ninth house, second and ninth house, or fourth and ninth house can provide a strong foundation for higher education. When Venus and Mercury, natural benefics, are together in the 2nd or 5th house, it indicates proficiency in multiple languages, creativity, speech, and management skills. If they are present in the 9th house, it signifies good writing abilities, potential for publishing, and attainment of knowledge and wisdom. Jupiter's placement in the 2nd, 5th, or 9th house is beneficial for education, but unlike Venus and Mercury, Jupiter is not as flashy. While Venus and Mercury bring attention and fame, Jupiter is more like a guru who is less concerned with recognition and acclaim. Exploring Different Types of Education The planets Jupiter, Venus, Sun, Moon, Saturn, and Ketu are associated with non-technical education. Their placement in any of the aforementioned houses can indicate a higher probability of pursuing non-technical education. On the other hand, Mars, Mercury, and Rahu are associated with technical education. Jupiter is associated with various fields such as life sciences, law, teaching, coaching, banking, management, mantra and historical studies. Mercury is associated with communication, languages, writing, journalism, mathematics, accounting, and commerce. Sun is associated with subjects related to administration, politics, government, leadership, management, entrepreneurship, performing arts, and creative writing. Mars is associated with technical and engineering studies, military, sports, surgery, and physical activities. Moon is associated with subjects related to emotions, psychology, counseling, nursing, hospitality, nutrition, home science, history, and archeology. It also signifies education related to women and motherhood, such as midwifery and child care. Venus is associated with subjects related to art, beauty, aesthetics, fashion, design, music, dance, poetry, literature, romance, and social sciences. Saturn is associated with subjects related to discipline, hard work, structure, organization, architecture, research, history, and law. Rahu is associated with engineering, technology, computer science, foreign languages, politics, and occult sciences. Ketu is connected to research, spirituality, astrology, and other mystical studies. Saturn is old and ancient so its connected to coal, oil, natural gas, ancient history, ancient tech and related studies. Although Rahu and Ketu are generally associated with technical and non-technical education respectively, their quality can be enhanced through their dispositors, conjunction with other planets, and placement in certain nakshatras. Conjunction Drive When two or more grahas come together in a conjunction, it can lead to a different outcome. For example, the conjunction of Jupiter and Mars can lead to an interest in technical or non-technical studies based on the strength of the planets. However, if both planets are of equal strength, it can result in a combination of both technical and non-technical interests. Typically, individuals with this conjunction tend to have a diverse range of interests. If Jupiter, Venus, and Sun are conjunct, it can indicate a greater interest in philosophy and higher understanding. Jupiter and Sun represent an interest in dharma, justice, and management, while Venus adds creativity to the mix. This combination can lead to a greater inclination towards artistic and philosophical pursuits. Yogas for Education Saraswati yoga Brahma yoga Budhaditya yoga Buddhimaturya yoga Shiva yoga Gyan yoga Guru Shukra yoga Shukra Budha yoga Presence of one of more of these yogas in a person's natal chart indicate knowledge and potential for improvement. To determine their educational interests, look at the house and ruling planets. For instance, Shukra-Budha yoga in the 5th house of Libra for Gemini ascendant suggests a love-themed interest in writing novels, poems, and period dramas.

  • Āvani (Shravani) between mid of August and September: Month of legacy

Sun's annual transit over Leo is termed as Āvani (based on the sidereal solar calendar). Āvani, the term comes from the nakshatras Shravana and Shravishta (another name of Dhanishta). Shravana and Dhanishta are paired nakshatras like the pairs Punarvasu and Pushya, Purva and Uttara Phalguni etc. This month carries the combined energy of both the above said nakshatras thus the name Shravani that became Āvani in Tamil. Shravani is also the name of Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of eternal prosperity. Whatever you start at Shravana gets its final stage at Shravishta, that's the philosophy. For example, God Vishnu after conquering the three worlds through his Vamana Avatar (deity of Shravana), gave it to the Ashta Vasus/Digbalas, the eight directional deities of Shravishta to take care of it for eternity. So it represents the inquisitive, technical, long term action plan that stands for ages through time, aka a legacy. This month carries the energy of what i said above. As in what you were thinking and working on last month will get fine tuned this month, at the same time what you start this month carries the energy of achieving perfection over a long term. The full Moon day of this month falls on Shravishta nakshatra is the most potent part of this month. "Even people with the name Shravani and people with strong presence of Shravishta carry the same energy of this month (esp. if Sun and Moon are in this axis)." Astronomical significance Sun moves south from the Tropic of Cancer towards the Tropic of Capricorn hence this month is the time of dusk, as in the time period comes after sunset. Religious and spiritual significance This month is used for many Hindu religious ceremonies such as the Upanayana, Upakarma, Varalakshmi Vrat pooja, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesha Chaturthi and more. Upanayana/Upakarma It is done on the full Moon day of this month when the Moon is transiting Dhanishta nakshatra. Upanayana is a religious rite conducted by chanting special vedic mantras, conducting yagyas and let the student wear a Janai (जनै/பூநூல்) for the first time so that they can enter the vedic Gurukul for the first time. Upakarma means continuing the rites every year by changing their Janai (जनै/பூநூல்). Upakarma is also performed for clearing the silly mistakes we do everytime we perform the poojas around a year. “Puranas say that when God Vishnu took the avatar of Vamana, Lord Surya performed Upanayana before he started his vedic education.” Varalakshmi Vrat pooja is usually conducted in the month of Adi (previous month) but some people perform it in this month also. #milkywayastrology #vedicastrology #shravana #shravani #shravishta #sravishta #dhanishta #vediccalendar #legacy #upanayana #upakarma #janai #janmashtami #ganeshachaturthi

  • Ādi (Ashadha) between mid of July and August: The month of action towards victory

Sun’s annual transit over Cancer is called the month of Ādi (Ashadha) in the sidereal solar calendar. It usually falls in between the mid July and mid August. Sun’s direct aspect usually falls on the nakshatra of Uttarashadha on full moon of this month, hence the name. This is the time of informed actions towards victory over objectives. Uttara Ashadha is the nakshatra of later victory after strategic planning or contemplation over a long time. So this month will have the theme of achievements you’ve been thinking of lately. If you look at the previous month it was about finding and understanding the deeper meanings. Thus the following month automatically gives you the time to plan/organise your actions towards later success. It doesn't matter how big or small your achievement is, victory is victory. Astronomical significance This is the time of the year when Sun stops moving north and prepares to move south like it does every year. So from next month onwards the lands in the northern hemisphere will start having less and less daylight. Religious and spiritual significance Since the Sun’s movement towards the north is coming to a halt, this month is considered as setting Sun. Our one year is one day for the devas based on their dimension. This is their evening time, the time of setting Sun, the starting of tamassic time. So this month is spent in worshipping the dark Gods such as Rudras, Bhairavas, Das Mahavidyas, Ashta Matrikas, Navadurgas. Dark God doesn't mean what you learn from western mythology, Hindu philosophy says that when you are in the dark time aka tamassic time you need the blessings of dark Gods such as Kali to find the light. If you look carefully, Hindu philosophy says that even Lord Shiva is a dark God thus worshipping Shiva Lingam in black colour. He’s the representation of nothingness (no colour), but that nothingness leads you to everything like black hole creates galaxies. Auspicious ceremonies such as marriages, inaugurations will not be conducted in this month due to the start of tamassic time. Some people also observe Ashadha navratri in this month annually to start the setting sun with prayers and poojas. Ādi Kiruttigai (ஆடி கிருத்திகை) Krittika nakshatra aka the Pleiades constellation is where Lord Kartikeya was raised. So worshipping Kartikeya on this day of this month is highly auspicious. People perform special pooja for their various prayers to get fulfilled. If Krittika is a war hero then Uttara Ashadha is where he fights. Thus the connection. Overall, this is a good time to contemplate your thoughts, words and actions since past six months (from when sun was in Capricorn) to become the final victor. #milkywayastrology #arunastrology #ashadha #aadi #vediccalendar #solarcalendar #uttarashadha #mahavidya #rudra #darkgod #Shiva #victory #conquer

  • Discover Your Purpose of Life from the Birth Chart

Life can be compared to a game where we are the players. The ultimate goal of life is to achieve liberation through heightened consciousness, which cannot be attained in a single lifetime. Therefore, we take birth after birth to prepare ourselves for this ultimate purpose, advancing to higher levels with each new birth. Each birth comes with specific objectives (prarabdha karma) based on the karmic debts we have incurred along the way, and we strive to fulfill them, thus fulfilling our destiny or purpose. "Astrology serves as the blueprint for this game of life we play." Fate vs Destiny In Sanskrit, the term Vidhi is used to describe fate. Vidhi explains important aspects of one's life, including who you are, why you are here, what you will achieve, and how you will achieve it. Fate and destiny are two different terms. While destiny only shows what you will achieve, fate encompasses all of the aforementioned aspects. Therefore, fate is a more appropriate term for Vidhi, as it shows both the path and destiny. To avoid confusion, we can categorize the aforementioned points 1, 2 and 4 as the path, and 3 as the destiny. By understanding 1 and 2, we can understand our prarabdha karma (past and present), while understanding 3 and 4 allows us to comprehend our agámi karma (present and future). By combining all of this knowledge, we can see the purpose of our life. If this concept is unclear, read on for further explanation. What is Freewill? Fate and freewill are not mutually exclusive but rather intertwined. They depend on each other and have a complex relationship. A person's fate can influence their freewill, and vice versa. When fate is strong, the individual's freewill may be limited, and when freewill is strong, fate may have less impact. In other words, strong freewill implies weak fate, and strong fate implies weak freewill. However, it's important to note that fate isn't all bad, and freewill isn't all good. Some people are skilled at making the right choices using their freewill, while others are not. Ultimately, both fate and freewill lead to the same destination. As the sole creator of your fate and freewill, it's essential to understand how they interact and affect your life. Understanding the Purpose of Life with the help of Astrology: The position of the 6th house from the ascendant and the placement of the 6th lord are crucial in understanding one's prarabdha karma. If both of these factors are strong, it may indicate a strong fate, thus reducing or eliminating free will. However, it is important to note that fate is not always negative, and it is essential to examine whether the strong 6th house and its lord have positive or negative implications. In fact, a positive 6th house and 6th lord can lead to great successes, as seen in the case of a Pisces ascendant with Leo in the 6th house, where a strong 6th house can result in a leadership role that serves the community on a daily basis. To gain a deeper understanding of your life, it is important to examine your 6th house. Analyze the quality of the sign, its lord, the planets situated in the house, planets situated with the lord, the aspects, nakshatras, and divisions. This is because prarabdha has a significant impact on what you give and receive in life. To understand the prarabdha associated with each aspect of your life, you can examine the 6th house from the respective house. For instance, the prarabdha of your marriage can be understood by examining the 12th house since it is 6 houses away from your 7th house. Similarly, the prarabdha of your career can be understood by examining the 3rd house since it is 6 houses away from the 10th house. In essence, every house has a reflection of the 6th house, and every house comprises elements of other houses within it. To comprehend the implementation of prarabdha, you should interpret the chart by taking the 6th house as the ascendant (lagna). It's a common misconception that the 6th house is always negative. While it does bring challenges, obstacles, and enemies, it also offers opportunities for success, growth, and courage through competition and adversity. In fact, material life is incomplete without the influence of the 6th house. To illustrate this point, imagine watching your favorite movie with all the 6th house elements removed. It's likely that it would no longer be your favorite, as those elements play a critical role in creating tension, conflict, and ultimately, resolution. The placement of the 10th house and its lord from the lagna determine your agámi or future karma. As the 10th house is five houses away from the 6th house (which is considered as the child of the 10th house), it is believed that your agámi is influenced by your prarabdha. Similarly, the 10th house from any other house in your chart also reveals the agámi of that house. For instance, the 4th house in your chart indicates the agámi of your 7th house, meaning what you will achieve through your marriage and how you will achieve it. The 6th and 10th houses belong to the artha houses, which indicate sustenance and the reasons for your birth. Your birth into a specific family is based on these reasons, as they are best suited to guide you towards your goals. Once you have determined these reasons, you should examine your dharma trikon to gain insight into your physical body, attributes, lineage, and birth. The dharma trikon consists of the 1st house (representing you, the present), the 9th house (representing your father, the past and present), and the 5th house (representing your ancestors and children, the past and future). If you have two keys to unlock your future, one is held by your artha trikon and the other by your dharma trikon. The Karma Significator Saturn is known as the "karma significator (karaka)," which means it executes the consequences of our actions. The position of Saturn is crucial in understanding the karmic journey of a person and is equally important as the 6th and 10th houses. This is not only because of the aforementioned reason but also because Saturn is the significator of the 6th and 10th houses. Notice the Nodes According to Vedic astrology, Rahu represents your future and Ketu represents your past. Rahu indicates who you will become and Ketu indicates who you have been. The insights you gain through the previously mentioned techniques are always supported by the positions of Rahu and Ketu in your chart. For instance, if your analysis of dharma and artha indicates that you are destined to become a physicist, then the placement of Rahu and Ketu in your chart will also confirm the same. In addition to the aforementioned techniques, astrology has other important points such as Bhrigu Bindu and Gandanta Nakshatras that can provide deeper insights into one's karma. Since interpreting some people's karma can be challenging, understanding these points can help unravel even the most complex karmic patterns. Bhrigu Bindu and Gandanta Nakshatras indicate significant events or turning points in life that can have a profound impact on one's destiny. The Gandanta Nakshatras, in particular, are known to untangle long-standing karmic knots. The sapta vargas, which include d1, d2, d3, d7, d9, d12 and d30, are crucial for comprehensively understanding one's life purpose. It is essential to examine the 6th and 10th houses in each of these divisions. Example charts 1. Albert Einstein, an acclaimed physicist, had a strong prarabdha and agámi to fulfill, as revealed by his 6th and 10th house placements. His Moon in the 6th house, 6th lord in the 8th house, and 8th lord in the 10th house suggest an optimal distribution of karma. Moon's placement in the powerful gandanta zone of Jyeshtha in the 6th house indicates a significant fate, meaning that there is less free will in his actions, thoughts, and words. Additionally, the exaltation of the 6th lord in the 8th house reinforces this fact. The parivartan yoga (exchange) between the 9th and 10th lords, is a strong one. This configuration suggests that Einstein's prarabdha was to unravel profound mysteries in science and space technology. This is further supported by his 6th lord's technical nature and placement with Rahu, the graha of modern science. His 8th lord in the 10th house is surrounded by two friendly planets, indicating that he was able to conduct his research effectively. Nonetheless, the Pisces placement of his 8th and 9th lord shows potential losses in resources, memory, and other areas. Pisces also suggests that his prarabdha's results will not end in his lifetime since it represents the universe. Hence, his theories and unfinished work continue to be used, analyzed, and debated in the scientific community till date. The presence of air signs in Albert Einstein's dharma trikon indicates that he had the ability to express his thoughts effectively through words. Moreover, the conjunction of all three dharma lords in the 10th house signifies the ideal alignment of his life with his work and highlights his legacy. 2. Queen Elizabeth II, the late monarch of England, has an interesting astrological chart. Her 6th and 10th houses are unoccupied, indicating that the execution of her karma is happening through other houses. Her 6th lord is in the 3rd house and 10th lord is in the 4th house, suggesting that her duties and responsibilities are connected to these houses. The lords of these houses are hemming the lagna, indicating that her life is strongly bound by her karma, leaving her with little free will. Additionally, Saturn and Jupiter's aspect on the 6th and 10th houses, respectively, signifies significant responsibilities. The placement of the dharma lords - Jupiter, Mars, and Sun - in good positions, especially the exalted Mars and Sun in the 2nd and 5th houses, respectively, demonstrate strong family ties, strong lineage, and a powerful social position. Sun, as the ascendant nakshatra lord, and Mars, as the lord of the Sun, confirms the crown. However, Jupiter and Mercury's debility with Ketu in the head indicates a simpleton. Overall, Queen Elizabeth's life purpose is to communicate what she was told to the masses while living a comfortable life. She appears to be deeply manipulated, which is evident by her 6th lord in Aquarius and its lord in Scorpio, both signs are associated with secrecies and manipulation. Look at the significance of her 3rd house, which is 6th from the 10th house and 10th from the 6th house, and think further.

  • Laziness and Procrastination (seen in birth chart)

Difference between Laziness and Procrastination Laziness and procrastination are two different concepts, though they're often linked. Procrastination involves delaying or postponing a task, while laziness is a lack of motivation or energy to do something, regardless of its importance. Procrastination can have two types: one due to external factors, like a lack of resources or overconfidence, and the other stemming from inner doubts or hesitations. Laziness can manifest either mentally or physically, with both having an interdependent relationship, where a lazy mind can lead to a lethargic body and vice versa. Comfort and discomfort are two factors that can contribute to laziness. Too much comfort in life can cause a lack of motivation, while excessive discomfort can have an adverse impact on a person's mental state, leading to laziness. It's crucial to note that laziness can develop into an addiction, acting as self-sabotage that can impede the progress of even the most talented individuals. Overcoming both laziness and procrastination requires self-awareness and discipline, along with a readiness to push through discomfort and challenge oneself to achieve success. Examining the Causes of Laziness The Moon represents your mind, so it should be given primary consideration when analyzing your inner psyche. Other significant factors include Rahu and Ketu, the 4th house and its lord, the Matri karaka, the Cancer sign, and any planets located in the 4th and 10th houses. Jupiter's placement also plays a role in shaping your personality. These elements work together to define your character. Let's examine the possible causes of mental laziness one by one, taking these factors into account. When Saturn or Rahu casts an aspect over the Moon, it can afflict the mind, leading to negative feelings and ultimately causing laziness. The impact of this affliction can be intensified if there is a mutual aspect or conjunction involved. If Ketu's aspect on the Moon is mutual or in conjunction, it can lead to a constant preoccupation with the past. When the Moon is in a state of exaltation or debilitation in the 2nd or 4th house, it can create a comfortable or uncomfortable situation for the mind. However, if malefic planets, especially Saturn, afflict the mind, it may end up becoming lazy. An afflicted 4th house, such as having Saturn or the nodes (Rahu and Ketu) in the 4th house, can lead to feelings of lethargy or alienation. The 4th house represents the inner mind, including the subconscious, which plays a role in intuition and other mental processes. When two or more malefic planets aspect the 4th house, it can create a strong affliction that makes the inner psyche uncomfortable with the current situation. This can lead to confusion and feelings of laziness. An exalted Jupiter, particularly in the 4th house, can provide a great deal of comfort in life, which may lead to laziness, especially if there are malefic connections present. The presence of malefic influences over the Cancer sign and the Matri karka can add an additional layer of complexity. The aforementioned points mainly pertain to mental laziness. However, some individuals tend to rationalize their laziness with distorted ideologies. This is where the trikon houses and their lords come into play. Let's delve a little deeper into this topic. If the 1st, 2nd, and 9th houses are afflicted, it can cause physical, mental, and moral discomfort, respectively. The 1st house represents the physical body, while the 2nd and 9th houses represent the logical mind and moral values, respectively. Lethargy may also arise from a debilitated Mars or afflicted Aries, as Mars symbolizes physical action. The emotional mind is represented by water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces), and if these signs are afflicted, it can lead to procrastination. Afflictions in moksha houses (4th, 8th, and 12th) can create challenges since these houses represent our sense of comfort and liberation. An afflicted Jupiter can lead to a distorted ideology, causing you to find reasons to avoid work. A strong 6th house from the ascendant can lead to an abundance of obstacles in life, resulting in a cause-and-effect relationship that may lead to feelings of lethargy. A strong 8th house can lead to mental rigidity, which in turn can cause laziness. Affliction to the 3rd house or its lord can also result in lethargy since the 3rd house signifies physical strength and the skills acquired in life. Saturn's special entry Saturn, known for its association with commitment and hard work, can also be associated with laziness and lethargy when afflicted or uncooperative. Saturn's placement in the 1st, 4th, or 7th house, along with Saturn's association with the Asc lord, Moon, Atmakaraka, or Amatyakaraka, can also lead to laziness. The presence of Saturn-ruled nakshatras such as Pushya, Anuradha, and Uttara Bhadrapada, along with afflictions, may also contribute to this effect. Afflictions in other nakshatras like Rohini, Ashlesha, Purva Phalguni, Swati, Vishakha, Satabishaka, and Revati can also cause Saturn's energy to manifest as laziness and lethargy. These are just a few of the many ways to identify laziness and procrastination in a chart. However, it's important to note that there are plenty of examples where individuals are still active despite having one or more of these combinations. This could be due to experiencing a positive planetary dasha or having a vipreet rajyoga, among other factors.

  • Āni (Jyeshtha/Moola), month of breaking and making

The Sun’s annual transit through Gemini is called Āni (Jyeshtha/Moola) in the sidereal solar calendar. This year its between 15th June and 16th July. Sun directly aspects Sagittarius and its nakshatras (Moola and Ashadhas) while transiting Gemini. Jyeshtha being Scorpio’s nakshatra is mentioned here because of the unequal nakshatras. Nakshatras have unequal lengths unlike signs, but for our convenience it's made with a mean system so every nakshatra stretches for 13 degrees 20 minutes exactly. The tail of Scorpio extends deep into Sagittarius, thus Jyeshtha and Moola represent similarities in their approach. Āni (ஆனி) in tamil/sanskrit means the deepest point (the edge of a root/sword/needle), pivot and axis. It also means singularity where everything meets and merges into one, which inturn evolves into something new. The theme of this month is about finding the end/limit to explore/understand it. For ex. if you wanna break your fear you need to understand the root of it. Whatever you’ve been embracing, indulging will take a new shape in this month especially in the second two weeks. Read about Jyeshtha and Moola to know more Religious and spiritual significance Āni Uttiram aka Āni Tirumanjanam (Holy bath) is a festival dedicated to Lord Nataraja (Shiva). Lord Nataraja represents Ether (Akash) among Pancha Bhutas. The festival takes place on the day of Uttara Phalguni (Uttiram) nakshatra which is connected to Lord Shiva. It is said that on this day Lord Nataraja gave darshan to his devotees. Holy bath (Abhishekam) of the idol will be performed during the sunset period (Pradosham) on this day. This kind of Holy bath is performed only a few times in a year. One of the other days comes in the month of Margashirsha (between December and January) which is called Arudra Darshan. The difference between Arudra Darshan and Āni Uttiram is that the former is done at the morning twilight and the latter is done at the time of sunset. Our one year is one day for the devas based on their dimension (according to vedas). Their dawn occurs at the time of our Margashirsha month and sunset occurs at the time of Āni month. Dawn is before sunrise (Brahma Muhurta) and sunset is Pradosham time which is also auspicious because the time of tamas will start after sunset so its important to worship at sunset time. According to Shaivism, Lord Nataraja is the true form of Lord Shiva which demonstrates the five-fold functions of the universe such as creation, preservation, destruction, concealment and salvation through Maya. • Predicting Future Solar & Lunar Eclipses

Predicting solar and lunar eclipses is a useful technique. Vedic astronomy helps determine the exact date and time of eclipses, allowing them to perform rituals to counteract any negative effects. Eclipses occur when the Sun and Moon align with the shadow planets, Rahu and Ketu. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon is between the Sun and Earth, while a lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the Sun and Moon. The arrangement of the Sun and Moon in the Taurus-Scorpio axis with Rahu and Ketu can be easily visualized using a South Indian chart, as shown in the image. This particular chart depicts the lunar eclipse on May 26th, 2021, and clearly shows the Earth being positioned between the Sun and Moon. To determine the positions of the Sun and Moon relative to the shadow axis, follow these simple steps: First, identify the central square in the chart as representing the Earth. Next, locate the positions of Rahu and Ketu, which form the shadow axis. Finally, find the positions of the Sun and the Moon in relation to the Earth and the shadow axis. This image represents a solar eclipse, with both the Sun and Moon situated on the same side. This particular chart is for the solar eclipse on June 10th, 2021. Furthermore, to determine whether it is a partial or full eclipse, one can look at the distance between the luminaries and the shadows. However, it's important to note that the accuracy of this method may be affected by slight errors in degrees made by the software. It's worth noting that if the shadow is within an 8-degree range from the Sun, it is considered a total eclipse, even if the shadow is in a different sign. Types and Interpretations Total, partial, annular, and hybrid eclipses are the different varieties of eclipses that occur from time to time. However, predicting the different types of eclipses is a complex task and not yet fully understood. The interpretation part is even more challenging since there are six axes between the 12 zodiac signs and two nodes. Moreover, the Sun is sometimes with Rahu and other times with Ketu. Therefore, interpreting the effects of an eclipse should be based on several factors, such as the zodiac sign, the nodes, the conjunction of planets, and the type of eclipse. Some common events such as natural disasters and diseases are mentioned in the texts and are usually advised by astrologers. However, good things can also happen during eclipses, especially when the society at large is under a low vibration.

  • Vaikási aka Vaishaka month: between mid of May and mid of June

Sun's annual transit through Taurus is termed as the month of Vaikási aka Vaishaka (வைகாசி) based on the vedic (sidereal) solar calendar. When sun enters taurus its direct aspect falls on scorpio (vishakha nakshatra) hence the name. The theme of this month is related to anuradha and jyestha as well but mainly related to vishakha. This is the month of daring achievements, indulgence, focusing on the future instead of the present. It can make you change your path from ordinary to extraordinary or vice versa. Vishakha is connected to thunder, lightning, achievements, indulgence, duality, splitting into new branch or finding a new territory, exploration, bravery etc. You may witness all these things happening in your life esp. when you're strongly connected to vishakha nakshatra. Main theme i always see is that this is the time of taking alternate routes to get the desired results. The alternate route can be full of unexpected twists and turns but you are determined and achieve the end result. Vaikási Visákam It is celebrated every year as the birthday of Lord Kartikeya (Murugan) Rainfall Its around this month the monsoon also starts taking place every year in South Asia. Although august becomes the month of maximum average rainfall around the world june becomes the start of it. August is the 3rd from june so accordingly its when the sun is in cancer so the effort of june is reflected in the month of august. This year there can be more rainfall due to the reason that ketu is in anuradha, rahu is in rohini, jupiter is in shatabishak and vishakha is also connected to rain and thunder. Month of Courage All three nakshatras in scorpio denotes strength, courage and determination. Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyestha nakshatras can handle any situation. These nakshatras will teach you the hidden secrets/meanings of everything. At the same time when sun's aspect is falling on this sign shows that this is time when scorpio's secrets/scandals may also come to light. Scorpio's courage is different from the rest, it's where life's ugliest or unbearable truths will come out. Because we live in an imaginary world most of the time what you see, hear, feel are just an illusion constructed by your brain. This is where you'll know that all the different colours in the light are nothing but different shades/aspects of white light. Remedies related to Lord Kartikeya (Murugan) is highly auspicious during this month. #milkywayastrology #arunastrology #vishakha #Vaishaka #Vaikási #taurus #scorpio #solar #vediccalendar #solarcalendar #anuradha #jyestha

  • What is Gandanta?

Gandanta point, the zone of "ice and fire". The term "Gandanta" derives from Sanskrit and can be broken down into two words: "gand" meaning knot, and "anta" meaning end. It marks the end of a significant karmic cycle. In other words, if a person has gandanta placement it means they're at the end of their karmic cycle. This knot is at the end of water signs (final nakshatra) and the beginning of fire signs (first nakshatra) due to a lot of energy transfer between these two signs at their meeting points. There are a total of three water signs and three fire signs, and the junction zones are between Cancer and Leo Scorpio and Sagittarius Pisces and Aries Water and fire have opposing properties - water has the ability to extinguish fire, while fire can evaporate water. Therefore, when these two elements meet at the junction point of water and fire signs, they create a powerful karmic zone where they work against each other, potentially leading to the destruction of long-standing karmic bonds. Read about karma and its types There is a distinction between the gandanta point in water signs and fire signs. Water signs are associated with rest and comfort, so individuals with placements in this zone may feel stuck in their karmic situation and act slowly. On the other hand, fire signs are associated with action and reaction, so individuals with placements in this zone will act promptly when faced with karmic situations. Navigating the Karmic Whirlpool Its the zone of "ice and fire", I use this term because at the end of water signs (especially the last pada of the last nakshatra), the water becomes extremely cold. Water signs are responsible for emotions, and when emotions get cold, one tend to become rigid. But why? At the end of water signs, emotions and attachments are high due to two factors: water signs signify emotions and attachments water signs signify Moksha (free from everything/letting go) You only get attached to people or things when you have to let go of them. This is general human tendency, but it results in a cold and rigid lifestyle. This is when fire (heat) is needed to release that stiffness and attachment. Fire is needed to let the emotions run freely like before. As the fire meets water, their opposing properties release huge amount of energies that create a giant whirlpool of karma (aka karmic whirpool). In other words, sudden loss of attachment may arise, you may not be able to avoid it even if you have the power and capacity to do so. Contrary to popular belief, Gandanta isn't always a negative influence. In fact, many people have experienced sudden positive transformations in their lives, going from rags to riches, a materialist to a spiritual master due to the activation of benefic planets and houses in the Gandanta zone. The Gandanta zone is a place where karmic knots are tied and untied. Planets in the Gandanta point of water signs make one untie the karmic knot while planets in the fire signs make one tie a new karmic knot. Planets in both the signs make one tie and untie at the same time. Only you have the power to untie the knot that you have tied yourself. It's like a giant twister that you must face in order to progress in life. For instance, planets in the Gandanta zone, make you finish the karma associated with it first before you can move to the next level in life. It often involves paying off a bunch of karmic debts all at once so that you can be free from it. Read about karma and its types It starts at the last nakshatra of each water sign and ends at the first nakshatra of each fire sign. The nakshatras included in this zone are , Ashlesha in Cancer (16° 40’ to 30° 00’) and Magha in Leo (0° 00’ to 13° 20’) Jyeshtha in Scorpio (16° 40’ to 30° 00’) and Moola in Sagittarius (0° 00’ to 13° 20’) Revati in Pisces (16° 40’ to 30° 00’) and Ashwini in Aries (0° 00’ to 13° 20’) This is an area of intense energy and karmic transformation, where old karmic debts can be resolved and new paths can be opened. While it can be a challenging time, it can also be an opportunity for growth and evolution. Eye of the Karmic Hurricane As the karmic whirlpool gets more intense, it transforms into a powerful karmic hurricane. The intensity of the hurricane, however, differs based on the pada or subdivision of the nakshatra. For example, the first pada of Ashlesha is less intense than the second, which is less intense than the third, and so on. It's usually the fourth pada of Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati that creates maximum intensity and puts one in strong karmic duties. On the other hand, the first pada of Ashwini, Magha and Moola are more intense than the subsequent padas. The planets positioned in the Gandanta zone reveal a diverse range of karma. By analyzing the karaka or significations of various planets, nakshatra padas, and house significations, one can discern the nature of their karmic patterns, bondage, and rigidity. However, at the exact mid-point of the Gandanta zone, which is at 0° of the fire sign, the intensity is null. At this point, one is at the eye of the hurricane and can become one with the Gandanta. As one grows older, they develop the ability to handle everything and start controlling their karmic patterns rather than being bothered by them. Karmic Nature of Gandanta Zones and Nakshatras People with planets in the Gandanta point often feel strongly controlled by their destiny, unaware that they are paying off numerous karmic debts at once. This is particularly evident in the case of Scorpio and Sagittarius. Scorpio is tamas and Sagttarius is sattva. Tamas and sattva guna are two extremes or modes of existence in life. If tamas is north pole then sattva is south pole so they can't meet each other. Additionally, Scorpio is a fixed water sign, the emotions are deeply grounded, thus more rigid mentality can be exhibited than the other two water signs. Natives may feel a sense of heaviness, even when their dasha lord or Atmakarka is transiting through this Gandanta zone. Furthermore, it's important to note that the two nakshatras involved in a Gandanta zone can act like each other, such as Revati acting like Ashwini, and vice versa. Revati natives may be slow, dreamy, and somewhat confused most of the time, but often they may act like Ashwini to accomplish their goals. Similarly, the always active Ashwini may be dreamy, slow, and confused often. Comparing other Gandanta nakshatras also highlights this point. This is why Gandanta zones are karmic, as they can be entirely opposite to what they represent at times. Even predicting them becomes harder for an astrologer. Finally, it's worth noting that karmic bondage can be from this life or countless previous lives, as the deeds we perform stick to our souls as good and bad karmas and are released in bunches once they mature.

  • Grahas, Pancha Bhutas and Yoga Mudras

Mudra In Sanskrit, the term "Mudra" refers to a gesture, symbol, sigil or a seal. Each one of us has our own unique mudra that sets us apart from one another - for instance, if you have a habit of always smiling, then that is your mudra. Whenever someone sees you, they will be greeted with your smile, and subsequently, every time they see a smile, it will remind them of you. This is the power of mudra. Every living being on earth has its own mudra, and by resonating with it, you can manipulate them at your will. In some cases, these mudras can also be intangible. For example, a plant or tree's mudra may manifest as signs of nourishment, which are demonstrated through their physical growth. They provide nourishment in the form of vegetables, fruits, medicines, shade, and more. Thus, mudras are an essential aspect of life. Note that mudras can also help determine which planet is strong and weak in your astrological chart. Try performing a mudra in your hand and observe which one feels the easiest to do. The mudra that feels the easiest is likely associated with your strongest planet. Five Elements (Pancha Bhutas) The Pancha bhutas, also known as the five elements, form the fundamental basis of the universe. The five elements are: Ether or Akash or Space Gas or Vayu or Air Heat or Agni or Fire Liquid or Jala or Water Solid or Prithvi or Earth These elements are the building blocks of everything in the world, from the smallest particle to the largest celestial body. Each element has its unique characteristics and associated properties, and they work together in a complex interplay to create the world around us. According to Vedic philosophy, the order of the five elements is maintained in the above said manner because the ancient sages had knowledge (long before our scientists) that ether or akash is space itself, which is the primary element that gave rise to gas formations (the 2nd element) that subsequently created heat, also known as fire (the 3rd element). With time, this fire cooled down to become liquid (the 4th element) and eventually solid (the 5th element). Ether is composed solely of intangible matter or what we now call "dark matter." Gas is composed of both ether and gas. Heat is composed of ether, gas, and heat. Liquid is composed of ether, gas, heat, and liquid. Solid is composed of ether, gas, heat, liquid, and solid. Each of the five elements has two associated properties: Ether: space and sound Air: expansion and touch Fire: heat and light Water: liquidity and taste Earth: stability and smell Humans, animals, plants, planets, stars, and galaxies are all composed of the same five elements. However, the final composition varies depending on their elemental combination. For example, if you are thin and your brother is fat, it means that you have a higher proportion of the fire element in your body, while he has more of the air/water element. Essentially, whatever you perceive externally exists within you, albeit in a different form, and vice versa. In Ayurveda, if you read that the Sun is linked to your digestive organ, it indicates that the digestive organ is made up of the same pitta (fire) element that created the Sun. Therefore, they are interconnected due to the same source energy. You can rectify your digestive organ by fixing your Sun or vice versa. The same holds true for every other part of the body. Pancha Indriyas The Pancha Indriyas refer to the five external sensory organs in our body, namely the ear, skin, eye, mouth, and nose. The term "Indriya" means equipment, and in Ayurveda, it is referred to as the organ. Our organs can be considered as our equipment. The Pancha Indriyas correspond to the five elements as follows: Ether - Sound - Ear (Shrotra) Air - Touch - Skin (Sparshana) Fire - Light - Eye (Chakshu) Water - Taste - Mouth (Rasana) Earth - Smell - Nose (Ghraana) Surya Mudra The Surya Mudra is associated with the agni (fire) element, and is believed to help establish a connection with the Surya (Sun) within you. It is particularly helpful in improving the fire element in your body and mind, especially if it is weak in your birth chart. As Surya is the significator of the 1st and 10th houses in astrology, practicing this mudra can potentially help you address various aspects of your life, including your social responsibilities. Guru Mudra The Guru Mudra, also known as Gyan Mudra, is intended for the vayu (air) element of the body. This mudra helps you connect with the Guru within you, which is important for achieving balance, wisdom, and increasing your life expectancy. Guru is a natural jeeva karaka (significator of life), and this mudra can also help slow down your breath, leading to an increase in life expectancy. Prithvi Mudra The Prithvi Mudra is associated with the earth element, and it can help you ground your energy by improving your Venus that is connected to the earth element. Venus represents the beauty that grounds you in this earthly realm, so practicing this mudra can align your energy accordingly. Buddhi Mudra Buddhi Mudra, also known as Varuna Mudra, is used to balance the water (jala) element in the body. This mudra helps you connect with the Budha (Mercury) within you, which is responsible for the logical analysis of the world. This ability sets humans apart from animals, much like how the presence of water distinguishes Earth from other planets. The mudra also helps regulate the water content in our body. Akash Mudra Akash Mudra, also known as Shani Mudra, is believed to balance the ether (akash) element in the body. Ether is the space that exists both inside and outside of us, from the microcosmic to the macrocosmic level. Practicing this mudra can help you reconnect with the collective consciousness and align your emotions. It is considered a mudra of enlightenment. Chandra Mudra Chandra Mudra, also known as Moon Mudra, is associated with the water and earth elements. This combination of two elements represents life, making the mudra a lifesaver. It is believed to enhance the mind and body by bringing alignment between thoughts, words, and actions. The mudra is also said to have a calming effect on the mind, helping to alleviate fear, anxiety, and depression.

  • Phalguni (फाल्गुनी/பங்குனி)

Time of Fruits Between the middle of March and April, the Sun (Surya) transits through Pisces. This one-month period is referred to as Phalguni or Phalguna, which translates to "the fruits of your action." The word "Phal" means fruit or result, while "Guni" or "Guna" signifies your action. When the Sun and Moon illuminate this area of the sky, it signifies that you are prepared to accept the consequences of your actions thus far (over the past 11 months). This could either prompt you to continue on your current path or to make a complete change. As the Sun enters Pisces, it aspects Uttara Phalguni nakshatra in Virgo. The full Moon (Purnima) of this month falls mostly on this nakshatra, thus the name. Uttara Phalguni signifies amiability, rapport, and bonding, reflecting cordial relationships, dedication towards work, service, marriage/relationship, among others. The luminary axis in Phalguni fosters bonding and friendly relationships while also breaking up relationships that have become a burden. It's a period to gain control over oneself and others. Theme This month's theme revolves around focused energy, precision, decision-making, critical thinking, judgement, nourishment, protection, love, meditation, energizing oneself, among others. It's typically a high-energy period to let go of the past, relax, and embark on long-term work and commitments. The Sun will be exalted in the 2nd house from Pisces, so it's a joyful time for the Sun, similar to the expression "the night before the weekend is more satisfying than the actual weekend." End of the Year The month of Phalguni marks the end of a Vedic solar year, and the start of a new year is signaled by the entry of the Sun into Aries. As such, this period provides a favorable opportunity to make new decisions for the upcoming year. Panguni Uttiram In addition to its astrological significance, Uttara Phalguni holds great religious importance as well. It is strongly associated with Lord Shiva, as its animal is Bull (Lord Nandi himself), and it is believed that Shiva and Parvati were married during the Uttara Phalguni nakshatra of this month. Similarly, Lord Kartikeya (Murugan) and Lord Balaji (Venkateshwara) were also married during this auspicious nakshatra. As the full Moon illuminates this nakshatra, it highlights its qualities of dedication towards commitments, making it an ideal time for such important ceremonies. This auspicious day is called Panguni Uttiram. It is celebrated in Shiva temples by symbolically marrying Parvati to Shiva, while Lord Kartikeya and Venkateshwara temples celebrate by marrying the Gods with their respective spouses. As a result, it is considered an auspicious time for marriages and performing remedies related to marriage. Any pooja on this day will be fruitful, even performing a milk abhishekam on a lingam is highly auspicious. As this day and month fall under the influence of Phalguni, it is considered auspicious for starting endeavors that one wishes to endure, such as marriage, signing contracts or business agreements, purchasing new items, resolving disputes, commencing employment, focusing on fitness and wellness, contributing to charities, undertaking projects, connecting with people, and chanting mantras.
