Month of Aquarius/Magha (Mid-Feb to Mid-March)

Sun’s annual transit in the sign of Aquarius (kumbha) is called the month of Aquarius (Magha month). Sun’s direct aspect falls over Leo and the full moon of the month will be in magha nakshatra. In Tamil, its called Maasi month, Maasi also means Magha.

The theme of this month is "achievements". Because Magha represents the height of achievements, the throne of the ancestors. In other words, if you spent your last month on constructing a building then you'll spend this month on inaugurating the same. That means either naturally or artificially you'll get opportunities to fulfill your goals (long-term or short-term). It also has the theme of "strong foundation", because Sun transits over Saturn ruled zodiac so it has the tendency to start something for a long-term progress.

Aquarius starts with dhanishta (lioness) nakshatra and ends with purva bhadrapada (lion) nakshatra, while the opposite sign Leo itself is a lion, so this month could bring a long lasting success in your endeavours especially if your Sun and Leo are strong.

Remedial Measures

The deity of Aquarius is Lord Shiva, hence its a perfect month to perform remedies for Lord Shiva. Aquarius is directly opposite to Leo, hence its a good time to perform remedies for Leo natives. Also its a good time to perform remedies for childbirth, ancestral curse, learning disorder.

The tithis Trayodashi and Chaturdashi are the best. Because Trayodashi is dedicated to Lord Nandi and Chaturdashi is dedicated to Lord Shiva himself.

Maha Shivaratri

Maha Shivaratri = The Great Night of Shiva

It is celebrated by the Shiva worshippers (aka Shaivites) on Krishna Paksha (waning fortnight) Chaturdashi tithi of this month.
